What's changed is that the "civil rights heroes" went from being people who wanted to go to school, people who wanted to sit wherever on the bus, people who wanted to be allowed to eat in restaurants - to whacked-out drug dealers, strongarm robbers who fight the police, teen thugs and loose cigarette street corner salesmen.

There's the difference, TIME. See the problem now?

Back then the cops dealt with them the right way, with violence and billy clubs, but today the police just sit there with shields and let the thugs throw rocks at them and do anything they want to.

To clarify I was talking about the violent protesters back then. The peaceful ones had every reason to protest and the way they did it actually caused real change because people sympathized with them, nobody that matters is going to sympathize with these thugs today if they behave the way they are.

Great cover, albeit a little bit of an exaggeration.

It's time for us to improve this countries race relations. That includes everyone, black Asian Hispanic, and yes white

We can't improve race relations with you constantly making excuses for everything black people do.

Do they sell Time Magazine at the Tulane Bookstore? You should probably get a copy and have Al Sharpton sign it for you.

You think that this cover or anything that is going on in Baltimore is going to improve race relations? Are you nuts?

I wholeheartedly agree. We can start by people stopping the looting/rioting/vandalism/murders/theft/violent crime that we see so often on a daily basis. Just so happens most of those people come from the same background. Ball's in their court.

It's a gross exaggeration that does more harm to race relations than good.

Whoever approved that cover should be fired.

Comparing actual racism fought mostly with peace to the looting, violent thugs protesting police with force and destruction is something no black person should want to see.

People have to want change to change...and they have to do it for themselves and not rely on the government.
