Yep. In case we had to bail my reprobate out of Panama City central lockup.

But did not shadow. We did our own thing.

ETA: We stayed miles away and did not get involved in their activities.

High school gf and her friends mom made the trip to Panama City Beach. Saw the exactly twice. 2 liquor runs. They paid for it.

I got to drink free booze and frick her daughter's brains out for a week straight. Everything about that is a win in my book.

Not mine. I went with some buddies to Destin in 88.

My daughter is getting ready to graduate and will be attending Georgia Tech in the fall. She has never had a sip of alchohol in her life and has been nose in the books since 8th grade. We are rolling her senior trip into the family vacation and leave for a 2 week stay on Kauai on Monday. She wants to share this time with her family instead of a group of catty whores and their wanna be teenage mom chaperones somewhere in Florida.

The moms that took us to Jamaica were divorced in short order. No joke. Small town. One was the town gossip for about a year

So you didn't get invited in a senior trip. Sucks man

My mom and a few others stayed in a nicer hotel close to our big group but only went because they wanted an excuse to go to Cancun. We were all 18, even if for some reason a chaperone didn't approve of something nobody gave a shite. It's not like they even were around.

I do love Darth in here reaching for yet another faggy reason to be a badass

they were able to buy us alcohol.. book the condo

Thatwas always our spring break situation. Senior trip was different because it was out of country. Good times all around.

If for some insane reason you are right about that (which you aren't), wait until she breaks out of her protective parents bubble and gets to college. Congrats on sheltering the poor girl and ruining her quickly fading younger years

Our senior class took a cruise. A few parents went, but we didn't even notice them. Plus they were the parents who would let us drink during our senior year in exchange for our keys. By that year they realized it's better to let us do our thing under a few conditions to keep us safe, rather than have us driving around drunk. Made for a very memorable senior year with no major incidents.

There are over 7 billion people on this planet and all of them are different. I have 4 kids and I know #2 is going to be hell on wheels because she has already been involved in more social circle shite stiring as a rising sophomore then I care to indulge. She is my drama child.

My oldest has had one boyfriend who is a bigger need than her. She is a beautiful girl who was a varsity cheer leader for two years, ran track, cross country, state officer for HOSA, National Honor Society, Beta Club, and over 400 hours of signed off on community service and a faithful Christian. Her mother and I have always encouraged her to aim high but we really didn't need to as it was just her nature. We pled with her to go out more and to be more social. She only had a burning desire for her studies and her extracurricular activities and how they would effect her college resume. If you ever had that one virtuous and wholesome girl at your HS that everyone looked to as the standard for being a "good girl".....she is that girl at her HS. She wasn't sheltered by us. It's just who she is on her own.

It's kind of odd that your worldview is such that you think it is a given that 99% of teens have had alcohol and the 1% that hasn't only refrained because they must have been sheltered. My second one in line is the one I know will be the party animal like I was. My oldest is just driven and motivated by things that I never could have even taken seriously at her age and it wasn't by my prodding for sure.

No chance. 1996 we went to Ft Walton Beach for a week. My mom drove a mini-van at the time and she let take it to my senior trip loaded down with 3 other friends/ graduates, 4 change of clothes, 4 toothbrushes, a large tub of cheese puffs, and 40 cases of beer.

I don't have kids but I'd gladly chaperone a few 18-year-old girls if it meant keeping them safe from the all the perverts out there.

Are there more perverts today than the 80s? How is a mom going to keep a kid from being arrested for being drunk and stupid? Once you do stupid shite you get arrested. Ain't nothing your mom can do other than bail you out. That's what your buddies are for but I guess kids today can't figure that out.

Nope, but I also didn't go on one, I got a job. Someone had to pay for my college.

No lottery scholarship when I graduated in Tennessee and I fricked off/drank too much in high school to get a full ride somewhere.

I doubt I would pay for my daughter to go on vacation without me when she gets older as well.
