That's crazy. I went with 3 girls to Hawaii for senior trip. No moms. It was awesome.

No parents went with us. I didn't go with my children. But I did require them to stay in the US. Absolutely no chance of them ending up in a third world jail that way. Plenty of bad decisions can be made here, no need to go abroad.

Two years before me some teachers went on senior trip and banged some students. They ran theirs mouths and ruined it for the next few classes
There wasn't one teacher in the whole school that you would want to do

Yes, but she also paid for it. My older brother who was graduating college at the same time went too. It was still a lot of fun.

I get the picture now. It is a very sore point with you since this is the 2nd thread that you felt the need to project your pain. Dude, I can't do anything about your daughters experience as the school slut. I am sure you tried to guide her and nothing worked. I don't blame you and want you to know that it's not all your fault.
LOL. This guy thinks a teen who has not drank alchohol or done drugs is "insane" and impossible. In his world I have sheltered her because I didn't haze her and force alchohol down her throat. LOL, what a loser.

My dad and my best friends dad came on ours. We went to the Bahamas. The parents stayed at Atlantis and we stayed at some shitty "resort". I hardly saw my dad there but when I did he'd give me money to gamble. There was an incident where I was thankful that he was there because we almost needed him. My buddy got arrested for offering an off duty cop a joint and they took him to the main island. Luckily we were able to get him out without the help of my dad.

Get ready to laugh........
we all went to Holly Beach.
A few parents were there, but not mine.
Lots of beer drinking and card playing........and other stuff.

I graduated HS in '78; yeah I guess I'm an old bastard but everything still works
No way I could be on one of these field trips today......I'd literally creep myself out if I checked out a big hootered HS chick.....now the teachers, that's another story

It started when joints wouldn't rent to minors. Hell some places won't rent to you unless you are 25 or older.

Most of the girls now go to FAU.
I miss having conferences in Boca, they have an excellent nightlife because those girls may grow up, but they do not outgrow their sluttiness.

Life, and the idea of Adulthood were so much different in 1984 . I went on senior trip, drank and had sex and slept an hour a day and ate my cheerios with beer . Same thing everybody else did.
The week after I returned from senior trip I hopped in my car with the money I earned as a busboy at Jubans and drove by myself for 5/6 weeks all over the East coast. New York, Boston, Montreal, Ottawa etc. I stayed with family, friends, roadside motels, in my car etc.
When I returned I went back to work at a pizza joint and got ready for LSU. I moved out in August and never spent another night at home . Ever.
This was a fairly normal approach. Get the kid to 18, and then set them free . Generation X has so overcompensated for being " underparented" that they are crippling their children's independence by over- parenting.
When I was 18 I guzzled beer directly out of a beer truck on the front lawn of my frat house with the Chancellor of the University and the IFC head looking on. By contrast, LSU just sent my daughter a checklist for dorm living that included " stuffed animals". That says it all.

To all the kids posting here who say they had parents go on senior trip with them:
1. Congrats on the helicopter parents
2. I would be ashamed if I couldn't go on a trip with my buddies without having my parents there to "get me out of trouble" or "give me money."
Point 1 probably led to point 2.

No dui because they don't have a vehicle
No underage drinking because it's legal to drink at 18
Most drugs aren't frowned upon by law enforcement
All good reasons to leave the country for senior trip

Our chaperone in Cancun for a group of about 30 was one of my buddies 20 year old older brothers who went to Cancun 2 years before. He figured it would be a good way to bang hot 18 year olds. Thank God it was about a year or two before the Cartel problem really started

Man this generations full of wusses.
If your are 18 yrs old you need to leave the nest and mommy behind.
In the 1970's and 1980's these kids would be called nerds.
