That was a crazy time in BR.. And surrounding areas. I was in college when it was going on. I worked in the iberville parish building inspection and permits. Anytime someone moved into a mobile home, the inspector had to go inspect their pole for Entergy.

He would inspect it then call me and let me know so I could set it up with Entergy.. And one day I picked up and he was cussing his arse off "frick this god damn job. I didn't even look at her pole, as soon as I got out of the truck that bitch comes out with her shotgun and said she wasn't letting anyone in a white truck come near her. frick Entergy, they can deal with that crazy bitch"..

The funny thing was.. I talked to her maybe 15-20 mins earlier and told her the inspector would be there to inspect the pole in the next 30 mins.. It was a white truck, but with the parish emblem on each side and a number on the back. But she couldn't get over the fact it was a white truck..

I have an uncle who lived close to the girl who was killed in West Baton Rouge. His son, was a teenager at the time and he was questioned about it. There is a book about DTL and they mention that in the book.. But didn't know any of the people who were killed.

Was living in Tigerland (Bengal Apartments) that summer… straight ghetto. Wouldn’t have been surprised to find out DTL hung out around there. I was 20.

I had a friend that saw him leaving Sharlo and told the cops. They pretty much told him he was mistaken because they were looking for a white guy.

Did anyone on the board know her personally?

I knew her through the MBA program. I didn't know her well, but she always seemed nice to me. A few of my friends that were closer to her got questioned by the police and their DNA tested before we knew it was a serial killer.

Sean Gillis? Now that was a sick, deranged SOB.

Or maybe Daniel Blank. When you talked to him he would look right through you like weird stuff. He was the weirdest person I ever spoke to

Edit: I knew D Lee's sister and she said it was a set up and he was innocent the whole time. She said police framed him and he told her he didn't do a thing.

I know of 2 people that got DNA swabbed. One guy was in his car waiting for his girlfriend to get out class and they swooped in on him. Another was a EBRSO deputy and the swabbed him too as a suspect.

They swabbed my friend. It was a choice between agree to the swab, or have police harass you at your work (at best) or arrest you (at worst) if you refused the swab. I’m guessing they got at least 1000 DNA samples from innocent white males who drive a white pickup truck (which was basically anyone with a work truck back then). Looking back, it’s bullshite that they were able to profile that broadly and act on that profile.

Pam Kinamore lived in the subdivision I live in. That guy was one sick fk. Unreal that he received a heart cath and pacemaker while on death row. How backwards are we in this country!

Yeah, but they said they were going to return everybody’s DNA if they weren’t the killer.

LOL at anybody believing that BS

I know a lawyer that says DTL was too stupid to be a serial killer. I think on his IQ tests he scored like a 65. A 69 is the border of mental retardation.

Yeah, they fricked that up. I might be thinking of something else, but wasn't there someone who someone thought he could have been a suspect.. or maybe they were saying they should not limit their search to a white guy?

And I remember the white truck being a thing, but did he end up driving a white truck?

Was DTL that dumb? I thought he was ex-military. Or am I thinking about Malvo/Muhammad from Bator Rouge, the DC snipers. It’s not like DTL did any sophisticated murders, basically just took advantage of solitary females.

Iirc I think he was in a white truck. I think he was spotted on I-10 with Pam Kinamore’s nude body on the front seat with him.

I think there was a cop in Zachary who thought it could be him. He had been a suspect for other crimes.

When one of his victims survived because her son walked in on the attack, they got a sketch and better DNA profile. He was arrested not long after.

Exposed nude body in the front seat on the interstate? It doesn’t take a Dexter to realize that this is not covert.
