I'd never vote for him for other reasons, but I don't believe he has an issue with establishing more neighborhood-centric school districts. His complaints for St. George were not centered around the schools, nor was St. George going to accomplish what I have proposed.

Holy cow you're angry. Did he steal your GF at Freds in the mid 90s at LSU?

I've asked this before and never really gotten a straight answer. But what is everyone's issue with him? Serious question. Never met and don't know anything about him other than owning a few bars.

Several posters have hinted on his behavior outside of his marriage. I hope all of his skeletons are exposed.

He's read the threads over the past couple years here. And I've talked to him about it. There are like 2 of 100 posters with legit gripes with him. The rest are "frick that guy" type posts.

My issue is that he labeled people that do not live within BR proper but pay taxes to EBR Parish terrorists for wanting to start their own independent school district. He proposed and backed legislation to block the St. George vote. And he uses his political power to financially benefit from his private businesses whilst stating otherwise.

He is one of the sleaziest politicians in BR.

Is there really no one we can pull out of the state legislature or any principled conservative businessmen in baton rouge that will run against these sleazy clowns?

Would you take the job?

You have to be a sleazy clown to be drawn to politics in the first place.

Why does one have to be conservative? Especially at the local level. Isn't the job of the mayor really to just be a cheerleader for growth and development and step out of the way? Many would say that Kip was a great mayor for Baton Rouge and he's not what you would consider "conservative". But he dresses up in a clown suit (literally) and goes on the road to get business and events to come to your town. That's all you need. Is Delgado that guy? Who cares about his personal life. Wish we had a Kip Holden in New Orleans.

It's shite like this I don't understand. We all need water. Why would anyone not want to preserve the aquifer for drinking? I'm pretty sure Exxon can afford it. But, you'd rather it become an issue for the City Parish. Ok.

What do you think a conservative is? Last thing we need is some democrat raising taxes and increasing spending. WE already have a Governor that will do that.

I would vote kip over these clowns any day of the week. He wasn't a terrible mayor. He was misguided in his attempts to lump infrastructure changes with his KipLand dreams on the levee (which i wasn't totally opposed of). But light syncronization, drainage improvements, etc... were needed and should not have been included in his waterworld theme park he wanted.

I will give Kip credit for the green light program, however.

I never mentioned his personal life. When you call half of the taxpayers of your parish terrorists...well that shows his intelligence level, maturity, and lack of decency as a human being. Delgado is scum.

Valid point.

I want someone to make credible strides for fixing education in this city. Not "throw money at the problem". More along the lines of breaking up the school district and forming smaller independent school districts like another poster said.

The 2nd would be to have someone that could influence the interstate traffic. I don't think a mayor really has control over that mess, but maybe he could nudge the right person the proper way.

3rd, eliminate redundant and needless spending. Focus on drainage improvements and infrastructure improvements.

My issue is he's a proven liar. He lied his way onto the CP council by slandering his opponent.

Thank you for remembering me.

Although I was opposed to St. George, I thought Browning was one of the few SG organizers who handled himself honorably and with class.

Back during the petition campaign I suggested in a thread that Browning should run for mayor and make changes from within the government rather than trying to split the parish into two cities.
