It's shite like this I don't understand. We all need water. Why would anyone not want to preserve the aquifer for drinking? I'm pretty sure Exxon can afford it. But, you'd rather it become an issue for the City Parish. Ok.

Not the big refinery. The smaller Exxon facilities north of BR along 61 and other small plants on 19. It's the arbitrary nature of the effort. Smokie's plan says "hey we think your using the water MAY affect salt water intrusion. Take your pipes out and tap the MS river. Oh and the bill is all yours."

It was the bullying nature of changing something and not meeting in the middle on the issue/costs.

Again there is NO evidence the water use is contributing to the intrusion. It's a THEORY.

Well, reading this thread, she probably has a reason to be a bitch nowadays.

Delgado for mayor by terriblegreen
Delgado has my vote.

I'm not sure why all the butt hurt directed towards him but I think he's done a pretty good job.

Incidentally, I opposed St. George. Bring on the down votes.

Whether you're for or against the St. George issue, it shouldn't sit well with you that this elected official calls some of the hard working people in the community terrorists for wanting to see their children in schools that are currently in their neighborhood. Terrorists? Really? Yea, not voting for someone like this. Only way to get Baton Rouge better is to hold a higher standard than this for our elected officials

You really are ignorant aren't you?
We grew up in 70810 and no, he didn't like my handjobs no matter how much lube I used.

Back during the petition campaign I suggested in a thread that Browning should run for mayor and make changes from within the government rather than trying to split the parish into two cities.

I'll vouch for this, you always had good things to say about him.

I can see his point of view. It's kind of undercutting someone's business to pull right in front of it and sell a very similar product.

The real issue--at least in other jurisdictions where I've looked at it-- is stationary restaurants have all sorts of gov-mandated expenses that food trucks usually don't have or can often skirt (various licencing, taxes, zoning, inspections, etc).

I remember JD from the hood. We used to have pick-up football games in Oak Hills. I think he played.

Those were the days--outside all day, every day.
