Calm down. Maybe you will get the words out better.

All good advice: there's a checklist you go through, he might be a colicky baby, will definitely cause crying.

Old enough to kick your arse.

Your child's central nervous system hasn't developed enough to try to cry it out method yet.
That's something around 6-8 months
Be patient. It'll be over before you know it

Meh, we let our 8 week old go for 10-15 minutes at a time "crying it out"
Gotta walk away from that bullshite
Up to 6hrs sleep, feeding, 6hrs sleep, feeding, 2-3hrs sleep

They definitely say wait until 6 months, but I don't think to awful to try earlier. I just don't think every kid is exactly the same. We did it at around 4-5 months and it took quickly. If I was having the same results as the OP, I would possibly wait a few more weeks.
I'll admit we all act like our solution is the best, 100% proven method. But reality is you have to figure out what works for you. Not every kid will be the same.

Go be with your kid you heartless bastard
Just rolling out of bed with my 2 year old . A nice 4:30 wake up call this morning as she ran across the hall asking for Dada. After warming her milk to whatever perfect temperature she deemed necessary she went back to sleep
Yup this is pretty much my nights now ...

Sleep schedule for 2yo does not matter as long as she is getting that 8-10 hours per night

Christ, give that baby a bottle.
When people say they do the "cry it out" method, they mean for 10-20 minutes tops. If baby is still crying, they soothe, then try again. Not let the poor thing cry for 4 hours.
Give the kid a bottle, read baby wise, try again later when more informed.

No she doesn't, we went to formula at 11 weeks
Go back to the tit then, like nature intended

ol at waiting on 6 months. There's tons of kids that sleep through the night at 1 month, not a majority but a decent percentage
He's not trying to get the baby to sleep through the night. He's trying to break a co-sleeping habit and get the baby to sleep in it's own bed.
OP: did the baby sleep in a bassinet in your room prior or straight to your bed?
Have you tried swaddling the baby?
Or a white noise app?

Oh she gets that no problem. Problem is half of that is me sleeping in the bed next to her. I really don't care though. Eventually when she understands more of what's going on we will break the habit but at this age if she wants me to sleep next to her for half the night I'm cool with it

Possibly change the formula. Similac Alimentum works wonders, but it is the most expensive one on the market.
I told you yesterday to check into Baby Wise, which is a book/ app for setting a baby's schedule. The last time I checked, I had 5 down votes for some dumbass reason. Both of my kids were taught the Baby Wise method by the wife early on. My six month old has been sleeping 11 hours a night for the past three months.

I would put my son in his car seat. Put a load of towels in the dryer and turn it on and set him on top of the dryer while it runs....knocks em out quick. It mimics a car ride.

4.5 months is not too early to do the cry it out method to some degree. You should be able to tell if they are just fussy or legit pissed and hungry.
Also, to be short, there is no such thing as colic. Colic is basically something that is undiagnosed, typically reflux.
Do not change formula without consulting your pediatrician first. Sounds crazy but if it is indeed reflux they need to track what was done in order to properly treat them and have the backing of insurance.
Both my daughters had to be moved to Nutramigen, once they were moved to that it's a 2 week waiting period to see if it helps. If it doesn't help insurance won't cover it unless you do ___ next. For us it was a low dose of Prilosec. 2 week wait, then upped the dosage, repeat, until we found the sweet spot.
You don't want to go guessing which formula they should be on since the non milk formulas are not cheap. Nutramigen is $40 a can, and since the proteins in it are already broken down for easier digestion, it doesn't keep them full as long. $40 can lasts 3-4 days.
Start them on some baby food as well, it's time to start introducing it. Rice cereal in the bottle will help. Not a lot, we do 3/4 a scoop for a 6 ounce bottle.
ETA: If your child is not sleeping, and shows visible cues of reflux. Pushing head back, pushing down at their belly, can't get comfortable, spitting up more, crying during or after feeding, etc. No amount of half baked take them for a car ride, gripe water, whatever is going to help, see your doctor.

Give it a small dose of Benadryl

I couldn't handle letting mine cry it out. It tore me up hearing them scream bloody murder so I always caved and put them in the bed with me.
