I respect the shite out of cops who solve real crimes and those who put their lives on the line for us. I can't thank those police officers enough and it's a shame they don't get the respect they deserve. It's the cops who think they are entitled to respect because they wear the badge even though all they do is harass college kids 5 days a week that get to me.

Interesting. I feel the exact same way.

If you interpreted my joke referencing "dumb arse college kids" as anything other than a quick jab/flame at some of the younger posters who stay on this site, you missed where I was going with it.

And also...Any cop who has solved "real crimes" hates the kind you mentioned more than you will ever know.

I lived off brightside soph yr and I had a few games where I couldn't go home. Massive headache and all. I said frick it one night and just went around a barricade and made it home. It was like a quarter mile to my place. This was off of river road.

So basically LSU killed tailgating on Nicholson all while making post game traffic more shitty?

Does anybody really think it was going to be easy to leave campus with "100,000" people? Also when you park in a lot with 3000 other cars, you might have a wait getting out.

i think it actually worked very well. Of course this wasn't a big game. But , i was able to leave lot 401 at about 10:30, go south in the northbound lane all the way to bluebonnet. was home in Gonzales by 11:15.

They had north bound contra-flow on River Road as well from Skip Bertman drive to the bridge. Don't recall this happening before this year either.

his was one of the first games I worked, so I am no expert. From what I gathered it seems like each corner makes a good faith effort to try and work together.

The commanders that plan everything really do work their asses off trying to predict problems and plan everything in advance. I was suprised at the amount of information and detailed master plans that send out several times a month in advance.

I got a better plan for yall, put up a sign that says local traffic only on brightside=problem solved.

For those that live off Brightside, is there no way to get to Bob Petit/Alvin Dark? That's how I would beat the contra flow after games...park around W. Parker and then Burbank to Jennifer Jean or somehow get to E. Boyd and down to Nicholson then go through Tigerland.

If I had to guess, they've probably changed something making this impossible now though...

you shouldn't be. you are a public servant and you should respect the public (your boss). you can think it but not say it while on duty.

I was in 207, went up Dalrymple to I10. Made it to Zachary in about 20 minutes total. Everything was good on my side of campus.

Yes!
When a big game comes up it's gonna be bad. This is the worst I've seen traffic flow since 1974.

People on that side of campus that are trying to get to 10 are the only group not complaining. That's a very small section of people. The rest pretty much got even more screwed

The article in the paper today makes it sound like LSU is spiking the football on the traffic/parking plan. I think they are in for a big surprise when everyone in the stadium leaves at the same time after a big SEC game.

It is (and will be) great for anyone parking north of North Stadium until the bridge.

People who park south of South Stadium who actually are headed to points south should like the set up as well (with the exception of the prohibition on turning off of RR onto Brightside).

People that are getting fricked with this plan are:

a) people with parking passes south of South Stadium that must head north (e.g., getting to MRB) - they will have to either wait for the contraflow to end, or go to Bluebonnet and then up to 10;

b) visiting fans - seriously, they don't know where they are going to begin with, and now most of the parking spaces they normally would take are gone.

You would think from the way LSU came at this issue, tiger stadium had just been built last year and game day traffic was a new issue. This has been an issue for years did they really need to pay a company millions to change a few things.

Exactly.

Every football weekend, they act shocked to see 100K people.
