Reading comprehension is where it gets tricky for you apparently.
Did you read the first 3 words of this topic? Colorado Supreme Court.....weed is legal for recreational and medicinal use in Colorado....what does the Federal gov't have to do with Colorado or Colorado's Supreme Court on this subject? Not a damn thing. So your argument is extremely flawed.

As such, the question at hand is whether the use of medical marijuana — which is in compliance with Colorado's Medical Marijuana Amendment — is "lawful" under the state's Lawful Off-Duty Activities Statute.
That term, the justices said, refers to activities lawful under both state and federal law.
"Therefore, employees who engage in an activity, such as medical marijuana use, that is permitted by state law but unlawful under federal law are not protected by the statute," Justice Allison H. Eid wrote in the opinion.

Maybe you're the one who should read a bit more.

Employers have a right to demand safety for all employees.

i'm not sure if he's kidding or not, but that's not uncommon at all.

I'm pretty sure lsu480 said if you have a medical card in AZ you can't get fired if you fail a drug test.

Yep, but once a test is created that's accurate I sure hope employers back off a bit. I'd agree to regular testing if I could smoke on my personal time.

Guess I'm just showing my age, but I worked in a fab shop in the mid to late 80s while I was in college. Tons of ways to get hurt in there. I wouldn't want to be working alongside someone who was high.

Also being high off weed isn't going to mess your coordination up either, unless you are a rookie.
This is the kind of legal standard that we need. Experienced pot smokers, toke away. Rookies, you'll be fired unless you can handle your pot.

Werd. Look at that pitcher that threw that no hitter while on LSD, a rookie couldn't do that, especially a rookie pitcher.
Seriously, I know your are being sarcastic, but the affects from a rookie smoker to that of a daily smoker are vastly different. My first time smoking felt like a dream and no way I could work or be around people, but as a daily smoker, I can play basketball and dribble all yall bitches off the court.

But can they fire people for taking medicine prescribed to them?
If it potentially prevents them from doing their job correctly you are damn right they can.

I go though periods of severe insominia. I find if I take one hit of high grade marijuana a couple hours before bedtime I sleep the whole night with no problems. In the past I was prescribed Ambien. Which do you think is safer? Which do you think has less side effects?
Is the that the only time you ever use marijuana?

This right here.
On my first pipeline job, my dad said, "Son always watch yourself. Everything out here can kill you."

They have saliva strips that can tell if you've smoked recently and how long shot, also how much THC you consumed. Police also have them to determine stoned drivers.
