Hmm. That's the worse so far, at least that has made its rounds. NOt nearly as bad as predicted though. Not condoning. I do wonder what led to that.
White cops on bikes got too close to black thugs.

The man had a knife and at the very least should and could have been wounded instead of killed. A trained professional should know this and as a police officer you know the risk when you take the job.

This is completely wrong!

You do not shoot to wound. This is not the movies.

People don't go flying backwards when they are shot.

If they are determined they keep coming.

A great example of how ineffective pistol rounds are at stopping a threat is Jacksonville PD officer Jared Reston's shooting.

Just wanted to point this out. When your life is threatened you shoot to stop....shooting to wound is stupid.

Note: All of this is for incidents in which lethal force is justified.

I agree with you completely.

That video showed a murder however.

WAIT.

THEY SHOT HIM 16 TIMES?

16 TIMES??????????????????????????????????

16! I am in shock. I saw the video and thought it was awful, but wow I had no idea 16 times.. My gosh he was just walking away.. he didn't deserve to die.. Can you not at least give a warning shot, or shoot him once to injure. He was walking away.. not even at them..

That is straight up murder, period.

Could they have shot him with a rubber bullet first or tazed him? I don't get this video at all. Looked like a crazy person skipping down the street

Maybe so. I haven't watched the video.

Just commenting on the idea that you would ever "shoot to wound".

You should never shoot unless you or someone's life was being endangered and if life is endangered you don't risk it by solely "shooting to wound."

He was walking away.

You can't access a situation and deliver the proper action..?

Rather go the easy way out and just murder anyone in the least of a threat.

How was he a threat when he was walking away, shoot him and see what happens then.. but you don't have to overkill.. he's just one guy and he doesn't have a gun does he?

LOL a knife.. a knife.. what's he going to do.. throw it at your bullet proof vest. It's absolutely overkill and unwarranted

Comparing this to another situation is silly. No 2 situations are EVER the same

Look, I agree completely with you. Im a combat arms vet. Watch that video. That was a straight up murder. I always lean on the side of law enforcement in the absence of hard evidence until all facts come to light in situations like this but there is no excuse for that.

Watching rounds pop off the ground after the threat was neutralized was very disheartening.

Wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I've seen much worse, without charges being filed

My little cousin just turned on Music Choice and a Soulja Boy song is playing. I just refresh the OT Lounge and your name pops up....

and what if this was a mentally challenged kid walking the streets and wasn't able to fully comply..

you going to pump 16 shots into him for not listening?

16 shots still blows my mind.. over a knife?

if it's a bomb or gun he's carrying in his hand i understand the threat.. not a knife.

Again. I haven't watched the video.

I was only commenting on the idea of shooting to wound.

If there is no threat you should not shoot period.

Will watch again later with sound. My son is nearby. I'm not explaining this shite.

How you can continue to fire when target is on the ground is beyond me? Standing over 10 feet away and the weapon is a knife?

Was the kid high? Psychotic?

Autopsy confirmed it. What baffles me is why he continues to shoot while the kid is on the ground. Drugs or not, at that point he is no longer a threat.

It doesn't sound like it matters in this case since the person was on the ground....but I can't help but point out bullet proof vests are not knife proof.
