Not going to aide spreading the "glorify the thick chick" mentality by looking at the issue nor pics of her on the Internet! From what I googled she is pretty but....oh wait..... Nevermind!

Fat giant booty black women refer to themselves as thick and Diva.

No actually I will use common sense and the knowledge that different people have different waist sizes and carry weight differently like you said before trying to apply a one size fits all formula. You can have two people with the same body fat percentage and same weight but very different waist sizes. Some people have very narrow hips, some have wider hips.

I'd say their is a difference between
Curvy
Plus Size
Overweight

Spot on

Curvy= Waist still skinny and healthy, but big boobs and wide hips

Plus SIZE= Waist slighty larger then ideal and healthy, but maintains body to where it isnt overly loose.

Overweight=Waist larger then ideal with no body maintenance at all. Flabby and loose everywhere

There is exceptions to every rule. But the waist to height ratio is far greater then BMI and other oudated measurments

Good thing that doesnt have anything to do with ones waist size

This board calls petite feminine women little boyish. But the fat acceptance movement is very powerful.

He's probably a lab tech or something. Types like he is educated but then then there is no depth. You know like someone that is around intelligent people and repeats what he hears but doesn't really understand it.

This is being taught and respected by every leading cardiologist in the field.

I think the waist-to-height will start to supplant and ultimately overtake (maybe BMI will be the secondary number) BMI, because it better takes into consideration a patient's overall fitness.

Still not perfect, but better than BMI, IMHO.

You nailed me. Lab tech. I dont give a shite whether or not you like the height to waist ratio. I have nothing to do with it and am not even in the medical field. But I can tell you that is what is being taught and monitored for cardiologist. And like the Ace Midnight said, it isnt perfect. Perfect is meeting with the Dr and doing a full assessment.

I agree but like you said earlier people carry weight differently so you should not use terms like perfect waist size.

Well most people with narrow hips will have a smaller waist than people with wider hips all other factors being equal.

I don't normally comment in threads like this but she is big, especially for her age. People don't get thinner in general. She is airbrushed too. I don't buy the "realistic body image" thing either. It is realistic to be thin or at least thinner than that. I think you can be big and happy and that is everyone's right. That is different than telling me that obesity can be an attractive quality and I just need to accept it. It is not attractive nor is it healthy.

We are wired in part to find healthy mates. In the times of kings and queens was fatter considered healthy because of the risk of famine, thus weight was more attractive. Now we know better and there is a different view. Be happy with who you are and your weight, if not do something about it.

That link you posted is terrible. I'm 5'10, 150, 31" waist. That link says I could blow up to a 37" waist and still be "healthy". Idk if you've ever accidentally tried on pants that are too big for you, but even 2" too big will fall off. 37" waist pants on me would require me to gain like 40-50 pounds and be significantly overweight

I didnt mean perfect in that way, I should have used a different word. Perfect meant in the middle of the range of healthy standards

With BMI, it is easy to point out examples of people that debunk it(any NFL linebacker, any weight lifter etc etc) However, it is very hard to find a healthy person that would not also show healthy with the waist to height ratio. It has very few outliers

That link has too much leeway. Once you get over .5 in most publications you are bordering on ulhealthy, overweight. So at 5/10" your cap would be 35"

Idk, at 6'2" 205 (fattest I got) I was still a 34" waist. I am just proportional everywhere I guess.

I'm 6'2", former great high school/sucky 1 year college track athlete. At 6'2", 175 I looked like an Olympic caliber 400 meter runner. More power to you if you can maintain that look, I was happy closer to 190 and still had a very trim and athletic build. At 6'2" only time I ever felt even slightly pudgy was went I got up slightly over 200 lbs after a bad injury. Even then I still looked fine, just wasn't ripped.

Point of all this is to say people shouldn't look at athlete measurements when comparing body size and weight.
