Hard to believe. Wonder what the ride numbers on this stupid slide are now? If it were my kid, I would be in jail because I would have blown the flicker up! I think the majority that attend these types of attractions believe that it really is safe and just make to look dangerous. Really sad.

Exactly. I wasn't implying just decapitation. Your brain is very active for approximately 10 minutes after death regardless of what caused death.
Therefore, your brain is very active after decapitation.
You may be able to see and process what your seeing for several seconds beyond decapitation. There is science that indicates you can hear for perhaps 10 minutes after death.
But whatevs...

The instant your brain stops receiving oxygenated blood you are going out. That may take a couple seconds. Think of an MMA choke. So the minute your body is removed you probably have a few seconds of consciousness. Probably less time than that poor boy had to process what the frick just happened. In addition he certainly sustained a head injury sufficient to knock him out as well.
Brain DAMAGE begins at 4 minutes. Brain DEATH takes some time longer. Who knows how long? Who ever has EEG'd a severed head?
But that poor kid was not conscious. Even old French Inquisition people that are referred to were probably out. Their eyes may have opened and with no brain damage yet their eyes may be able to "track" objects. Maybe their mouths moved. But I can't see a brain that has stopped receiving blood is still aware after a few seconds. Again think of a rear naked choke. But worse because all blood is immediately cut off.

If you have no blood flow to the brain, then there isn't really going to be brain activity because the brain doesn't have oxygen. You're speaking a lot of nonsense up in this thread but thankfully most people are smart enough to see through the idiocy.
People who get decapitated, quickly and cleanly, might have some consciousness for a few seconds before the lack of blood pressure causes a complete loss of consciousness. If you experience the kind of trauma this kid did, you probably got knocked out by the forces involved in the accident and so I would guess the kid didn't have any knowledge of his own decapitation. Very sad story but I hope he didn't feel anything (and likely he didn't).

No matter what the cause of the accident, seems someone forgot to calculate the height a human body could be launched upward, if that did happen. Hmmm, wonder what physics calculation would give that info? Surely one of the engineers here know it. Maybe you could enlighten Schiltterbahn. I thinking the wires that held the net up caused the decapitation.

10 year boys should not be seeking "Thrills". If you let your 10 year old boy seek out "Thrills" then you are a bad parent.
This ride is about "Thrills" and nothing else.

Please stop spreading misinformation, & then doubling down when called out.
The best estimate is 3-4 minutes the brain remains functioning at lower levels after death.
Doesn't mean the soul is there, just the meat & potatoes

ITT: Missoukills proves, once again, that his favorite flavor of chip is lead paint.

You dont think the force of the blow to his head would render him unconscious? Come on man. He wasn't a victim of the guillotine.

He doesn't want to admit he was wrong. It would hurt his e-reputation.

did they say how he got decapitated?

Not said how he was decapitated. I'm thinking his neck got caught by one of the net's wire supports. The net looks as if there is some slack between the supports and a person's head could push up on the net, then forward into the wire.

yes. I would like to know if there was some sort of equipment malfunction on this particular ride.

I'm guessing the velcro strap wasn't secure enough for the second hill, causing the boy to catch air into the net where his head was lopped off.
ETA: There's also such a thing as internal decapitation..which is just scary to read about.

Who in their right mind would think that would be a good design for a ride.
You plummet down and then shoot right back up.
If it was just straight down and into a long straight away it might work but that second part looks like a disaster waiting to happen.
I don't know any 10 year old that would venture to the top of that thing and not be scared out of their mind. Just the walk up would make me turn around and go back down.
