This is interesting. I mean clearly there are quite a few variables and I'd want other leading thinkers on the subject to chime in with their thoughts and analysis, but so far... Gotta say, I think I'd hit it.

this is actually a pretty significant discovery and the whole notion of black holes potentially not existing is like the least important thing about the overall finding

I've honestly always struggled with the concept. I've had trouble believing that during superheating and expansion of a star, it somehow compresses using less total matter than it just previously had while being more dense in the original state.

also the study isn't peer reviewed so her findings essentially mean nothing at this point

She didn't say black holes don't exist, she said stars dying can't form them.

I'm more skeptical about the article. It claims in the bullet summary that her findings say that black holes do not exist. Yet they never quote that anywhere is the narrative. In fact, they only list her explanation about her finding that star death would not lead to black hole formation.
