Agreed.

There are far too many ignorant people to understand how the concept works, however it isn't the infrastructure that is the issue.

what is the point of a bike lane if people are going to fricking park in it?

if the bike lane stays, the residents should be ticketed for parking in it

if the bike lane is removed, nobody should bitch when bikes are riding in the car lanes again

who is it that doesn't want to share the road again?

No. Bike and pedestrian infrastructure is now legally required in EBR. DWI.

yeah that's it

"get out of the fricking road"

Ok, we will build a bike lane so we can get out of the road

"hey let me park my car in the middle of your bike lane, a-hole"

ok...well lets remove the bike lane now

"get out of the road a-hole"

and around we go

Maybe because the pedestrians don't know what side of the road to walk on.

If people on both sides obeyed the rules this wouldn't be nearly the problem it is.
Runners/walkers against traffic and the bikes go with traffic. You have dumbasses on both sides...
Then the drivers have to be a patient with bikes... If it can work in MS it can work here. Just a bunch of butt hurt assholes on both sides. Everyone follow the rules.... Good luck with that happening though

A few things: the "lane" was originally created when they striped Glenmore to narrow the vehicle travel lane and add speed humps. A few years after, the city added bike lane paintings/signs but did not include "no parking" signs.

All lived in harmony, until 2-3 months ago.

As I said earlier, I've used Glenmore for over 6 years...outside of someone having a party, there are very few vehicles ever parked in the lanes; and are usually there for a short period of time (lawn care, home repair, delivery trucks, etc.)

Bike lanes are a privilege not a right on city streets. Instead of carefully maneuvering around residents' cars they demand that residents be ticketed. Many bikers have an arrogant attitude of entitlement.

this whole thing is about the Bikers' sense of entitlement. If they didn't resort to gestapo type BS like calling the cops to write tickets, we wouldn't be here. ride around the damn parked car and ride safely.

If you can't look over your shoulder before performing this maneuver, then you shouldn't be biking.
