Coming down this weekend for a wedding. I have most of the day tmro to kill with the wife and kids (7 and 12). Any ideas on what to do? Any festivals or events going on close by?

Thanks in advance.

Sitting in traffic will probably do the job.

Grab a burger from Judice Inn. Maybe go check out the arts and science museum downtown.

Get drunk.. Doesn't matter how, when, or where.

I usually just eat a bunch of boudin and drink a bunch of beer.

Sky Zone. I'm sure your kids would love it.

Hell, you might have more fun than your kids. I know I would.

New big fossil exhibit at the Science Museum downtown.

ETA: There's an ArtWalk going on Saturday night, but I assume that's probably when the wedding is.

Grab a half shrimp/oyster poboy from Ole Tyme grocery....off St Mary near ULLol.
Parish Brewing was extremely overrated....their menu was very IPA, hop heavy & their tasting room is terrible.

Go to Kegs on the strip.

But it's been awhile since I've been to Laffy. Mako's may be better now.

I think it's alright. Haven't really been to a zoo besides New Orleans, and it's obviously not like that. But I haven't heard anything bad.

Well, that's because IPA's are delicious. Their tasting room is pretty awesome actually. Overrated? They happen to brew one of the finest beers in the nation. Are you sure you went to the right place?

Do your kids like to skateboard? If so, there is an indoor skate park downtown about a block or two from Congress street called The Levee Skateplace. The kids love it. Guy that owns it is really cool and helpful. He even does private lessons and little 1 and 2-day camps.
