Y'all ever get the cheeseburger from Shade Tree Cafe in Broussard?

Never had a burger there, but have ate there several times in the evenings and have loved it each time. So nice and relaxing to sit outside and eat like that.

The Mall of Laffy is probably the best I've ever seen, world class even!

The zoo is kind of lacking. I took my neice there a few months ago the last time I went and it hasn't changed much since I was a kid.

Parish's tap room is great if you want a relatively quiet place to drink great beer. If you're looking for a place to be seen then you're looking for the wrong place.

The Mall is terrible, but I hate every mall.

People can talk shite about Lafayette all they want. It has good food, its a better party town than BR, its a nicer city than BR. I mean, frick, even people that live in BR talk shite about it. If not for LSU being there it would likely get zero praise. Downtown BR is getting much better, but I prefer Lafayettes downtown scene by a significant margin. I'm not saying its the best town or anything, but I do find it funny for people to talk shite about it.

I'm really hoping that German beer garden turns out nicely. It'd be great to have a nice place to day drink downtown that isn't catered towards the BMC/Fireball crowd.

What ever happened to that place? Seems like it ran out of steam.

It looks like the space is done on Facebook and they're still posting. Not sure what the hold up is. So far they have eight taps planned with seven of those being german beers. I get that it's their theme but it's kind of shitty to have one local beer when there are now three breweries in the area.

I went to BJ's for a couple of beers this afternoon after work. Their beers aren't bad. Don't think I'd ever go drink there regularly though.

That area is a complete mess of people. There was a 75 minute wait for Chuy's Wednesday night.

That's ridiculous. Is Dickey's any good? Not many bbq places last very long in Lafayette, aside from a place like Johnson's.

Texas people say it's shitty. BBQ places historically never do well here so I'd be surprised if it's around for long. Chuy's is pretty solid for tex mex. By opening they became the best of that style in Lafayette.

We went to the Poboy Festival this past Saturday and walked by and they were doing some finishing work, I believe he said it'll be open in 2 weeks which should be the weekend right before Festival.

Johnson's is pretty much all I need for bbq anyway. I prefer to bbq on my own most of the time.

I'm pretty loyal to El Potrillo and Mayas, both are very good, for Mexican food but I love Mexican so I'll eat that shite anywhere.
