I coached at Fenton High School in the late 80's- early 90's, before the high school was closed and consolidated with Lacassine, We were The Golden Eagles.

Some team somewhere copied the LSU tigers. I’m gonna go with that’s one.

That would be my old high school: Independence High. Mascot, colors, fight song, even copied the helmet design at one point for a couple years when I attended.

How big was that school? There's literally nothing to Fenton but two or three houses and a grain elevator.

It was pretty small. I actually played in that gym once.

The Franklinton Demons. At one time the jr high mascot was the Devils but the Bible beaters managed to get it changed to a damn falcon.

How about the Sulphur Golden Tors? Tornadoes are pretty damn destructive. Imagine one made of liquid gold.

Class C the entire time I was there, (4 years). I think the smallest number of students we had while I was there as about 70 in grades 9-12. Great basketball school, though.

The Quatre Pot Power Rankings would be
Wampus Cats
Ladies and Gents
Farmerville Farmers
Mandeville Skippers
Kangaroos
And the Green Demons of Mamou- not because it's in the top 6 but because I refuse to allow the catholic schools in Ville Platte or Eunice to be represented without opposition in this thread!

Baker Buffaloes

Back in the 80's, they had a live buffalo that they ran onto the field before every game and then tethered it beyond the end zone during the game. That thing started out relatively small but after a couple years it got to be huge and took several guys running beside it holding the ropes. It was awesome to watch. By far the best live mascot in Louisiana.

That’s actually false. Byrd was EST in 1924 and DSHS was established before WW1.
