Can't remember what's been posted ... have specific dates that I need; travelling to Nashville with LFT, BTR and possibly MSY as departure airports.

Thanks ... daughter qualified to attend National Beta Convention BUT can't leave with the group as she'll be at dance camp. SO we're trying to figure out the best/most economical/convenient way to get there.

Tuesdays or Wednesdays but this can vary. Just keep checking. Your lack of flexibility in travel dates negates some discount-ability.

Depending on the airport and time of year, along with Tuesdays, Saturdays can be a good day as well. Seems strange but so many people go out of there way to book Fridays and Sundays that Saturdays can be very, very slow.

Well we're going to have to leave either Thursday night or early Friday morning ... I was wondering if there is an actual best day to BOOK the flight.

I realize that we're limited ...

It makes no difference anymore, airline revenue management systems update inventory in real time. The algorithims are built to assess itinerary revenue against potential system revenue (ie. If you are looking to book MSY-CLT-LGA on Monday morning, the low fare might automatically jump to a (more expensive for the airline) DCA connection if CLT-LGA seats have higher revenue potential in other itineraries). They track this demand down to the route, time and date back 20 years.

SABRE is generally regarded as the best revenue management system, but Delta has built some in house programs that are pretty phenomenal.

TLDR- This isn't the 90s and fares are updated every minute. If you think you found a fair deal, book it.

I usually post my cheap airfare threads on tuesdays or wednesdays. On rare occassions I'll find cheap flights on sundays immediately after the airlines update their flight schedules on saturday nights. What dates are you travelling? I can keep an eye out

While Saturday night loads tend to have a lot of changes, Airlines update schedules thought the week as well.

Tuesday - Thursday and Saturdays are typically the cheapest days TO fly. It does not matter what day you book it on. Fares do tend to increase inside of 21 days to departure.

I was booking first class to Phx over a month out. Checked it every day. Fare jumped around a lot. At one point, it went from 900 to 1800 in a matter of hours and back down to 1300 a couple hours later. Ended up booking at 900 through delta with the low price guarantee.

Hey Cuse ... we're looking at leaving evening June 25 (Thursday) or super early June 26 (Friday) but the 25th is preference.

My choices are LFT (closest to home), BTR (where dance camp is) and MSY (I know they'll be the cheapest.

Husband said just to book closest so LFT will 99% be it and I'm sure the approximately $400 I'm see now will be the best I can do.
