This is one of the dumber comments that will be said in this thread, no matter how many pages it goes.
horrid traffic, extremely hot and humid, sprawl to the Nth degree, and lots of crime issues.
nah, I'll stick with my assessment of Screwston.

Houston doesn't have enough fun areas to interest me.

you're going advise on fun things to do in Houston? Are you just going to list your favorite bathhouses?

It doesn't have the natural beauty of the Hill Country but it's mapped out so much better than Austin it isn't close when it comes to getting around. Dallas has better highways, far better public transportation options, two major airports that are easy to get to, 5 pro sports teams, multiple nearby lakes, just as many if not more quality food options, and a more diverse economy.
Everything you said, except the 5 pro sports teams, can also be said about Houston. What makes me like Houston more is that it is so close to the coast and I love inshore fishing. I also grew up in the Houston area, soooo I'm obviously biased.
Austin is the coolest city to visit.. I dont really care for Dallas, but that's more just due to sports reasons. I do like Fort Worth a lot though.

Houston is the worst of the 3 to visit but is pretty solid to live in. If Houston could be moved 60 miles west into the hill country it would be the tits.

Dallas is where you live if you have no soul.

So the hill country is 60 miles west of Houston?

Right. Barry is apparently geographically challenged. Must be from houston

A lot.
There are 5 or 6 parts of Dallas I hang out in regularly depending on the mood I'm in and what friends I happen to be with.

6th St is prohibitive to raising a family??
give it 6 months, and you will avoid dirty 6th like the plague

I rarely see more wrong information and ridiculous generalizations in a thread than I have in this one. Opinions are one thing but just giving false info is giving retarded..
Austin house prices reaching cali levels??
Also there is almost as much TX vs LA hate on here as there is DFW vs Hou hate. It's like most of you people had one shitty night in one part of one of these cities and then make up a bunch of bullshite about how the traffic, schools, housing is good awful.

Oh I almost forgot the biggest reason I could never live in the DFW area. The weather is insanely crazy. You get terrible heat, snow, and tornados. I know summers in Houston can be brutal, but the snow and tornados that DFW get make it unliveable to me. I hate the cold and tornados scare the shite out of me.
