Half of the people in my office have one. I think they are kinda neat and am curious how many steps I take and how much ground I cover in a given day.

how does it track HR? Do you have to wear a HR monitor or does it have some sensor on the back that reads it off your wrist?

I have a FitBit Flex. Works great and pairs up with other apps on iPhone. The band on the Flex sucks however

I just have the cheapest one. It's a pedometer that also keeps your steps and distance logged on a website. If I could find an accurate pedometer, that's all I would need. Pedometers don't even count your steps accurately!

I have the surge. I run about 30+ miles a week and use the GPS function. I also use the vibration alarm so that it wakes me up and not my wife. HR monitor is OK as well. Mine syncs with my Samsung with no problems.

I would get the surge but it is a little too expensive. The Charge HR is a good medium because it has the display so I don't have to wear a watch but also is 100.00 dollars or so cheaper. The surge lets you control music on it though doesn't it? That would be nice while running.

My wife suffered from a severe rash from her FitBit after about six weeks of use. The thing literally poisoned her body. It started as a nasty rash on her wrist and eventually spread through her entire body. It caused her to get guttate psoriasis (small reddish scales over her entire body) which took about 6 months to heal. FitBit was less than helpful it trying to identify what exactly caused the issue. They tried to say it was nickle poisoning, but my wife never had a reaction to nickle before or since. They also told us it might be related to the adhesive they used on the product. We spent months going back and forth with them and had to fight for even the smallest bit of information. Eventually, they agreed to a settlement for her medical bills, lost wages, and suffering. I strongly recommend you avoid FitBit or at least do some research into the FitBit rash! I know this was all related to a previous version that was taken off the market, but I would not trust them!

I got my fit bit charge in April. It's great. I sync it with My Fitness Pal app. I'm clocking about 10k steps daily. I've coupled FBit walking and healthier eating and lost 34 lbs and down a full 1 1/2 sizes in clothes. My A1C blood work is outstandingly improved and my doc has kicked down my statins for cholesterol. I'm 66, btw. My 34 yr old daughter (runner, swimmer, yoga instructor, healthy eating advocate) and her husband (USMC pilot - Major) just each got one. Having fun doing fit bit challenges with them and some friends). Needless to say, I haven't won any of these, but am not finishing last either. No rash problems; just don't wear the band too tight. I wear mine all the time.
You'll like it!

I really like mine as well. My favorite function is the silent vibrating alarm. I can get up at 0500 without waking my husband. I wish it did more though...

Been wearing mine since Christmas - no rash. Model released just after I got mine also tracks heart rate.

Maybe prods you to take the stairs vs. the elevator, etc. because you know it's being tracked.

I like mine and would recommend if you're into fitness.

Was way too bulky and uncomfortable. I liked the interface, but I couldn't sleep with it on

The trick is to just put it on your dog outside. You get lots of health credits and when the NSA tracks you and sends your data to Obamacare you'll seem like one of the healthy ones and your file won't be sent to one of those death panels.

Man, I really liked the two I had, but they didn't like the South Louisiana heat and my sweaty wrist. I bought the first one beginning of February. So, they have lasted an average of about 4 months per for me.
