I've had the same problem. Milk keeps going back 3-5 days before stated. I've lowered the fridge temp, but that hasn't helped anything.

I had a run like that a couple times living in BR. Its extremely difficult to make high high quality milk in the south. The heat raises cow stress, bacteria counts and then the mastitis as a consequence raises the somatic cell count. No matter how well its cooled off or pasteurized, you can't make it taste good again.
Its tough finding good labor here as well- no one wants to milk cows for 7.50 an hour and do it cleanly at the same time. The civil service guys we had at LSU 14 years ago were total clowns. One guy stole from us the first day on the job and his replacement milked every other cow.

It doesn't matter what brand you buy. Technically Kleinpeter is a lot fresher than Borden, since its not being shipped in like the Borden.

Yes - two different gallons of Kleinpeter.

Was planning to call K-peter tomorrow and ask what's going on.

I don't get it. I've bought milk for forty years and currently two gallons a week and I cannot ever remember having a gallon go bad. I always check the date and look for the longest duration and it is normally at the back.

I've lived here almost 6 years and never had this happen before. Glad I'm not the only one, not that it matters.

I never buy it from the front. NEVER. If there is only one left and it is sitting in the front, there might as well be none there.

Dairy cows eating weeds that grow this time of year gives the milk a funky taste. Happens every year.

Looks like their FB is lit up with complaints.

People just need to deal with it. Milk spoils very easily compared to most consumable products, and when you buy it, you risk having it go bad quickly. Get over it. You know, sour milk was always good enough for Huey Long, and look how prominent he became.
