The chief problem European nations face is that their entire system of government is built upon the foundation of a largely homogeneous population with a shared history, culture, and system of values. This allows socialism to work. Once you introduce an outside element that doesn't share that same history and attitude, it falls apart.

I'd seriously doubt any immigrant could assimilate that fast. Assimilation usually works in generations, and it'd be 20 or 30 years before that occurs, and if there are enough of them in a given area, then it won't occur at all.
A better situation for me would be a temporary situation for all the asylum speakers until the situation in Syria stabilizes. Hopefully the incentive will be for countries to go ahead and defeat ISIS and then set up pro-Western government.
