Mine lasted 3-4 weeks. I never had the sore throat, but just felt completely lethargic, had no appetite and had fever.

I sweated uncontrollable when I had it. I would get out the shower, dry off, and 5 minutes later my hair was soaked. I had to sleep on towels at night and change clothes several times before going to work because of sweating through. I was giving a presentation and got stopped to ask if I was okay because of the sweat pouring down my face.

The upside was I lost 15 lbs.

ZIP, 0, Nada. I wish I could say that my sexual exploits were so numerous and wild that I'd rendered penicillin ineffective. But that aint the case.

Then again, maybe the wizard at the student health center misdiagnosed my reaction as well. I never took penn. again cause the first reaction was so bad.

I had it in college, ended up with the worst semester (in terms of grades) in my 4 years of undergrad.

It sucked.

I actually went to the Kentucky-South Carolina football game that year in Lexington because I felt "ok" that morning. Boy, was that a mistake. Talk about misery.

We've had several kids at work (I'm in a high school) that have had it throughout the year. It usually comes in waves and we end up having to work with the kids to do half-days for a couple weeks while they try to work back up to having enough energy to do a full school day.

Don't be surprised if it takes a few weeks to shake the lethargy from it. You also need to be careful if you're a fairly active/athletic person as they typically write our kids off any contact sports due to enlargement of the spleen.

Mine basically lasted a little over a week.

Started feeling awful on a Monday, mainly this terrible throat pain where it was very discomforting to simple breathe or swallow air. I had never experienced anything like it. I still worked the entire week and finally got to see a doctor on Thursday. I assumed it was just strep throat or something like that, but got the results on Friday that it was mono. By then it was starting to get a little better. Left for a beach vacation the next day and felt good by Monday. Was definitely fully recovered by the time I returned the next Saturday.

So it's possible for it to go fast. Good luck!

Yeah, I lost 20 when I had mono. If I remember correctly, my symptoms were bad for about a week. I literally moved back and forth from bed to couch, although I spent probably 20 hours a day sleeping or trying to sleep.

I had meetings scheduled that wouldn't be re-scheduled if I missed them, so I just powered through.

Had a buddy in high school get it. Missed like 3 weeks worth of basketball games because they were worried about him rupturing his spleen.

I got it when I was 24. It took 2-3 weeks for me to get diagnosed because I didn't have the typical symptoms. I was never really tired but had chronic fever for about 5 weeks. I was completely miserable.

I got it during the summer after my freshman year at LSU (mid-90s). Lost about 15 lbs (that I didn't need to lose) and remember having a really bad after-taste in my mouth for weeks.

I was taking a couple of summer classes and would basically lay on my couch all day when not in class. I watched a lot of the Olympics that summer and remember calling everyone when that female gymnast won gold on her bad ankle. None of my friends were watching, they were all like 'we partying, no time for watching freaking gymnastics'.

I had it when I was 26. I was in so much pain I thought I wasn't going to make it through the night. As soon as morning hit I was first in line at my doctors. They immediately knew it was mono.

I was out of work for a month which was awesome, it was during March Madness. I didn't eat anything for the first week. Literally laid on the couch and drank as much fluids as possible and was high on pain meds.

My wife and son were out of state at her moms house which was good because they wernt at risk to get it. They ended up staying there for the whole month.

I had mono back in 2013, it wasn't too bad but the Guillain Barre that it transformed into was a real bitch.

Good luck!

Have you traded beer with any strangers lately? I hear that is the leading cause of mono cases.
