I just had mono for the entire month of October at the age of 40. I felt bad just about all month and it felt like my blood was boiling. Some days worse than others. I was always hot feeling, swollen glands and occasionally had a sore throat. Mostly felt weak and infected. They originally said I had strep, but then found out it was mono when the meds didn't help me.

That's exactly what happened to me.

Also, I thought that you were immune to it if you haven't gotten it by 35.

antibiotics

For a viral infection? Do they suspect a secondary bacterial infection or does your physician just like contributing to the spread of antibiotic resistant bacteria?

Had that shite at 19 when in Vietnam - medic shot morphine into oranges - I sucked on that and smoked a couple of joints every night. Lost 15 lbs.

caught it right before my Senior Trip. Already had the trip planned out with staying in Ft. Walton for a week. Doc told me i couldn't go and to not drink alcohol. Lol

Went.

Next day it was completely gone. Evidently funneling and shotgunning large amounts of cheap beer is the cure for Mono.

Apparently not, although I think it is rare. It sucked because not only did I turn 40 during Oct, but it was smack dab in the middle of football season. Good news you will get back to normal. The steroids they gave me made me so hungry.

Had it at 36. Doc asked if I cheated on my wife.

Negative. I had to take 3 weeks off of work and not work out for 4 months. My white cell count was so bad he told he could hospitalize me. He said take 3 weeks off, no sun, no getting overheated, and rest.

I know someone who has chronic mono to where if their immune system declined, the mono would take over.

I do know one good thing about mono is you get thin fast!
