I don't get the AA hate. I pretty much exclusively fly them unless schedule dictates otherwise. Theyre the only airline I've used that hasn't caused a delay or had me sit on the plane for an hour or so. Still a delay I suppose

yep, they do a good job, problem with some of these "reviews," is that they are typically made by someone that flies very infrequently(which naturally puts people out of their comfort zone,) then they have a little snag or minor inconvenience, and it's OMG!!! Brand X is the worst airline of all time, I'll never fly on them again, yada, yada..., given the enormous scope of an airline's operation, the legacy carriers do a decent job

consider yourself lucky.

With plat status on AA last year, I had about 50 flights. Early morning flights out of MSY were always on time and never an issue, out of BTR mid-morning on the flights were always delayed because of ExpressJet. The only flights out of BTR were on the CRJ-200, which everyone hates. They lost my luggage on 3 separate trips, then took 4 months to get a refund for the luggage after they "never received my receipts" when USPS said they were delivered. AA always blamed every delay on weather when it was normally a crew delay, which in my opinion is their responsibility. The 3 maintenance delays I had were 3 1/2 hours with no food vouchers given out. Calling their 800 number was similar to playing roulette, never knew if the agent you were getting would be helpful or not. The 800 agents that were the old US Airways employees told me I couldn't standby for any flight on an award ticket as a plat, which is just wrong. Their IRROPS handling is piss poor, letting me know that it would be the next day that I could get to Denver when I found flights on my phone that would get me there the same day. From Chicago to Buffalo we waited on the tarmac to taxi to the runway for 1 1/2 hours then when it was our turn we were too low on fuel, made us go back to the terminal and they immediately cancelled the flight instead of trying to refuel. I can go on and on if you'd like...

Yet another reason to fly SouthWest.

Alaska Airlines makes me almost want to relocate to Seattle.
