The IB supposedly looks really good on a college app, but as I said earlier, BRIS has a very small amount of students who stay long enough to earn it. I'm pretty sure U-High also offers an IB degree, if you're lucky enough to get into the school.
Check Greatschools.org for reviews of schools. Sometimes it's a bunch of bickering from school loyalists vs detractors, but there are some good insights into the different schools from some people.

Great school. Your kids will learn so many languages and all school events include beer from Mockler.

Great for kids who have special needs. Solid for those who don't.

Cannot go wrong with local Catholic schools (outside of Redemptorist, obviously). St. George is an excellent school.

If you are going to pay for Dunham you might as well just send your kids to Episcopal for a better education.

BR International = hippies
Runnels = hippies
St. George = FAF
Dunham = FAF
Any Charter School = NF

I faced the same dilemma and Most Blessed Sacrament is in our neighborhood but we aren't Catholic so I figured we wouldn't get in. We are giving Parkview a shot for Pre-K and if we don't like it then Dunham it is.

If it aint Jesuit, it aint shite!!!

Why only St. George with regard to Catholic schools? Is that the Parish you live in?
Posted on 5/12/15 at 2:23 pm to ragacamps
There is only one school in the entire state worth commuting to, and it is Jesuit.
Any other private school in Louisiana, you may as well save your money and send your kid to a public school.

Would go to Dunham or Runnels and not even close with the schools you listed, UHS is like a charter and getting worse.

How many National Merit Students did Dunham and Runnels have last year?
ETA: Never mind. Found it. 3 semi-finalist total. Not very impressive. At all.
