No shoutout for Kalunda, not his real name? Pour out a Bud Dry for him.

I came here from Ken Ramsey about the same time, different user name back then. Seventeen years as Jeffsdad. As stated by others, to get the most recent news on world events this place is my go-to.
Tigerdroppings will have information on big-news world events at least a half day before the main news. Esp the details. If you want the latest on the Ukraine war, this is the best place, if there is a fire on a platform in the gulf, this is the place. The people on here are very diverse and some of them extremely intelligent in their field.

Damn supah. I didn’t know about your third. I hate to hear that and condolences.
Happy 20 year to you! Mine is coming up in January of next year and I also distinctly remember how I got here and even the friends apartment I signed up. Regret not ever being able to make going say hello and meeting you up in the Sulphur press box.
Happy that all is well

the responses here warm my heart, I didnt really intend to make a thread about me. I really wanted to make a thread about us.
Over 20 years life has dealt us all some ups and downs, but through it all time marches on. in some ways as this place became more and more ingrained in my life I realized how much the site marks the time in my life
When is chicken putting up the Christmas lights?
When is Chicken taking down the Christmas lights?
Super Bowl gameday
mardi gras
SEC baseball
NCAA Final Four
MLB
The Masters
Memorial Day
OMAHA
July 4th weekend
SEC Media Days
Fall Football Camp opens
LSU Football
Saints Football
World Series
Halloween
Thanksgiving
when is chicken putting up the christmas lights?
just like that, another trip around the sun
I am 52 and I see my parents in the last phase of their lives and it makes me think how fleeting life really is. My grandparents are one generation from me and I remember them, but my great grandparents are not even a memory. It is almost like they didnt really exist besides having kids that had kids that had me. My grandparents dont really exist to my kids besides pictures and a few stories.
One day I will be gone and what I find very interesting is as long as this site exists and remains accessible, anyone can find my words and read my thoughts on things for 20 years. Perhaps my great grandkids will one day look me up on the tigerdroppings archive and read my words. You couldnt pay me to journal about myself, but I literally have a living journal on a lot of what is happening in the world right here on this website.
day after day
year after year
that is way more than just a message board my friends

And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun
But it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way
But you're older
Shorter of breath, and one day closer to death

Supa, very well said.
And very sorry to learn of the loss of your third child.
Been here about 16 years, myself. It’s truly amazing the things we’ve seen here and sometimes been apart of, on and off the board, if you’ve been here this long. It is quite the community we have here.
Thank you for doing what you do to keep things in order, so that we all can enjoy this place, and attract other like- minded people.

Same. I just made 16 and didn't realize it until a thread was sxtarted about how long people have been on here.

But I’m not a loser like you guys.
Same. My PPD is way low compared to most who have been here as long or longer than me.

Time really has slipped right by. I signed up at the USO in Afghanistan while at Bagram waiting to go into Kandahar. This site gave me a relieve from what I was feeling at that time. Some of the names I remember from way back when was Blondie, Cornbread, Jenkins just to add a few. I hit my 20 years on this site in Feb 25 if I can stay alive.

Almost exactly how I sign on, but in Sept 2003. In early 04 Chicken changed something, we had to register something (maybe emails) so I changed my name 1/12/04 and complied to the lead yard hen's demands.
