good luck breh I can't wait either. I'm not into baseball so once NBA finals are over I have a couple months of no sports to watch.

I say GMs would prefer Brees. A link says "front office members and coaches" prefer Brees. That's a huge difference.

Bookmarking this for when the season starts and Tony Romo is leading the NFL in interceptions again:

Their OL will be even better than last season's superb OL. They won't be able to let their running game carry them again, but he'll have to be terrible to lead the NFL in INTs.

The 3 best measures for QB play imo are:

YPA
TD/Ratio
Passer rating

Yeah, know what is a better indicator of the quality of a QB? Consistency. Why do so many people have a problem with putting Big Ben or Flacco in the elite category, because they're both NEVER consistent year in and year out.

2009-2014, arguably their best years in this league:
Brees: 62-33 record, 3808 Attempts, 68.4% Completion, 7.8 Y/A, 228 TDs (6.0%), 95 INTs (2.5%), 101.2 Rating

Romo: 48-36 record, 2903 Attempts, 65.9% Completion, 7.8 Y/A, 161 TDs (5.5%), 64 INTs (2.2%), 98.9 Rating

Slight Edge to Brees since he's done it longer, but if Romo has another 3-4 years like what he did last year, he'll have by far better numbers.

Ok I'll remember this next time you try to rank AD higher than guys who have been around for longer. Deal

Fair statement, but I still think it's a bit of a reach considering you have to get through several weeks of training camp and pre-season injuries. I've seen the best teams get decimated by injuries and other issues before they even snap a ball in regulation.

Comparing apples and oranges when comparing players of different sports. There are a whole lot more 1-hit wonders in the NFL than the NBA. You see QBs like McCown post 2013 numbers a lot more often than you see a PF/player do what AD did last year.

If you think about it, Harden is kind of a 1-hit wonder too, don't you think?

He only recently elevated his game this past year just like...AD

That can apply to any team. We make predictions about the Saints this season, but we're not assuming that they're going to have a ton of devastating injuries when we talk about them.

I said injuries and other issues. Players can regress as well. Offensive lines are only as good as the weakest link, it really doesn't take much to turn a pro-bowl line one year into a poor unit the next year.

My original remark was in response to the 'a matter of fact-ness' that the Cowboys O-line will be better next year. It takes a ton of things to go right to have a success with any type of unit in the NFL.

Had nothing to do with their respective lines, right? Romo is a good QB and great at times. Last year he was awesome and he had the best line in football. Brees has consistently been awesome. Last year without a great line he still led the #1 offense in the NFL. You go ahead and take Romo and ride him and hope for a SB while we'll take Brees and hope for another SB. My money says Romo retires without a SB. I'd certainly take Brees for a 2nd SB before Romo with a single one. And yes, we know it's a team sport but I'd say Romo had a better team last year wouldn't you?

That title belongs to this guy.

quote:

One offensive coordinator described Manning as “an interception machine.” Manning has a league-high 185 interceptions since his rookie season in 2004. That includes a league-high 159 since Jay Cutler entered the league in 2006 (Cutler has 130, the third-highest over that span).

That Cowboy offensive line is not only talented but it's one the youngest & deepest in the NFL. There's studs at every position. Their play isn't dropping off anytime soon unfortunately. That's just wishful thinking on your part.

A Little birdie told me you 'lost interest' in football last season so I can see why you think saints are more likely to win one than big D. These 2 franchises are heading in different directions.

"different directions"

They're both rebuilding their lines to make it a run oriented offense. They both have above average qbs that can do a lot. They both suck on defense and spent this off-season trying to build it.

Sounds to me like they're pretty much where they are

That same birdie would laugh at you about Romo over Brees, wouldn't he?

Disagree. I think the Saints finish ahead of the 'Girls. We'll see.
