The Rooney rule is pointless now, there have been a few successful black coaches as of late.
I think its stupid that if you want a guy you have to interview other people you do not want.
I get that there are still hiring discrepancies in places, but I mean the president is black. I would say the field is pretty level now.

Rooney Rule is a mockery. How do you go about interviewing a black person without them suspecting it's just to satisfy that rule? It isn't the 60s anymore.

I hate the rule because it suggests to teams to not necessarily hire the best man for the job.
If the best man for the job happens to be black, then great...hire him.
If he's not the best man for the job, then I shouldn't have to interview him if I don't want to.

As a black man I think the Rooney rule is utter and complete horseshite! If you want a guy no matter the color hire him period! Plus why do we have to interview for the interim...the Saints have a Head Coach already he is just on a temporary hiatus.

I think when they bring in a black free agent defensive tackle to try out they should be required to bring in a white one.
