I would hope any black man that's a perspective coach would have enough respect for himself to not need some stupid rule to help him just because he is black.

They should make a real mockery of the rule and interview some 13 year old eskimo or Creole person (both minorities) who plays flag football or something.

Personally I hope the Parcells thing is just strategy to get God ell to reduce SP's suspension on appeal. If not the Saints will never live it down. Its certainly not fair to the organization or us Saints fans but its the truth

Does the Rooney rule apply to hiring interim head coaches? Its not like Sean Payton is actually being replaced. Bill Parcells will be an interim head coach, not our actual head coach.

just having this rule to begin with is a mockery. The best possible candidate should be hired regardless of race.
where is the rule stating that a "white" person must be interviewed. would they all be having a problem if only a black person was interviewed and hired. NO. They would be signing the saints praises.

I don't understand why the Rooney Rule should count for a temporary coach and Saints don't have time to interview when Sean is about to be serving suspension. He's just going with a familiar guy and mentor. I see no problem with this. And I'm pretty sure the Rooney Rule is made a mockery of quite often.
