I think he means not shaking hands after the superbowl loss.

If I recall he went to saints locker room personally after game. I wouldn't want to be part of a coronation for someone else either.

FYI, unless someone already posted....this is currently under NFL review....so, Drew may get to keep the record.

It's a rather simple view to suggest that citing a history of less than gracious behavior equates to "hate."

I don't hate them, nor do I care much about the record. I was just noting what I thought was the proper way to handle the situation and why I thought Manning would not behave in that manner.

So it still means the number should be 54 and not 55.

This entire thread is stupid. Let me get this straight: Manning sets the record and then sits the rest of the game. Now that people are questioning the validity of an uncertain lateral or forward pass, we are to strip him of the record, even though he would've stayed in that game until he acheived said record. Does this make sense to any of you? Put aside your Brees fandom and think rationally about this for a minute. It is absolutely wrong to strip him of a record due to statiticions (screw you spell police) making a debateable error during the game. If the rolls were reversed, every single one of you bitching Manning ought to have the record stripped would absolutely be bitching that Brees ought to keep it, and rightfully so.

Accept the fact that Manning had a ridiculous year that set two major records. We relished when Brees did it, and now Manning, who is a superiour QB to Brees, has done even better. I love Brees just as much as any other fan, but this is childish crap.

And the hatered for Manning due to him wanting to play for his father's alma matta and notLSU is the reason I have gone from being a lifelong LSU fan to a lukewarm watcher. LSU fans are annoying as hell.

MDS out until the off season when all the cumquats are off these boards

That's a long stupid post....whose fault that he sat out the game? You can't be just giving ppl records on a projection of " what might have been" or "if" as my sister says..." If my aunt had a penis, she would be my uncle"

If the pass is ruled a lateral (run) then that is subtracted and he ends the season less yds than Brees...

Um. Eli followed daddys footsteps and went to Olé Miss and Peyton to Tennessee.

Peyton only went to Tennessee because OM was in trouble with the NCAA. LSU fans still feel slighted by it, for some reason. Its also converted some pretty irrational hate of Manning on Saints talk.

But he did not play for his father's alma mater of Ole Miss, he went to Tennessee.

If it was truly important to him, he could have come out in the second half for the first series and put some distance on it. To be up by 1 yard puts the record at risk. Adjustments to statistics after the fact is very common in the NFL.
