Is this artice extreme or is this the truth?

Didn't read the article, but I agree with the forecast. I'm not saying we are the Aints again, but there has been a decline since 2011. Definitely the Super Bowl team's era is over.

I just read it and think it has some truth, but its also not that bad. It seems like the golden age of Saints football is drawing to an end but it will never be paper bag bad. I have thought about the post superbowl performance before but I don't think this game or even the past few seasons put us in a tail spin we cannot pull up from. Also, it was written by a saints fan in Houston and he admits to starting to write it before the game was even over. Things will get better.

I tend to agree with it. I think we are among a few teams close to the rebuilding time. Patriots, Steelers, and us. Proud talented teams in the twilight of what was once greatness.

The Saints will be a game out of first place in November.

I truly believe that.

But that doesn't mean that I think they're good or a contender.

It's hard to disagree. It's shocking to think that 2014's defense is comprised of many of the same players from 2013. I guess it only took the league one year to figure out Rob Ryan with the Saints.

However, as bad as the defense has been, I might be more surprised with the offense. Last night it seemed like the Cowboys hit wide open guy after wide open guy, while the Saints receivers seem to have 2-3 defenders in the area every time a ball came their way. That never seemed to happen so consistently in years past. And this wasn't Seattle's defense, but an average Cowboys group.

Rarely do I buy into preseason hype, but I genuinely thought this was a real Super Bowl contender before the season started. Now, it's hard to imagine that the Saints will even have a winning record this season.

They only bright spot to the season so far is that we still have a good shot at winning the division. Our division is by far the worst in the NFC.

I said last night to my brother that our days as SB contenders in the Brees era are over unless he essentially becomes a late career Warner type who has some elite weapons to throw quick hitters to and let them male plays. Long gone are the days where we can take a handful of average wrs and OTs and have him transform them into a record setting offense. He needs an much better o line at this point.

I honestly think he can't hit those Devery like rainbows to cooks or Stills or Morgan anymore. Seems like most deep balls require wr to stop or slow up for pass.

Nah sadly its spot on and true. Run is over. Time to rebuild
