This has to be the dumbest board on TD.

You could also do much better. I'd give him maybe top 15, but he is Cam level inconsistent without as much talent.

I can agree with a lot of your takes on the Saints but I think even you yourself said you don't watch much NFL outside of the Saints.

that quote of yours above leads to me to fully believe that.

inconsistency is true (Had him on fantasy, watched a lot...really bad decisions at times and made me think of Cam on a lot of just random throws).

last year for example was a string of bad games, then good, then bad, etc.

starts slow:
game 1: 258/1/1
game 2: 254/1
game 3: 243/1

then up:
game 4: 309/3

then down:
then back down:
game 5: 270/0/0
game 6: 225/0/0
game 7: 250/0/1

then up:
game 8: 282/2
game 9: 350/3

then down
game 10: 272/1
game 11: 151/0/2
game 12: 277/1/1
game 13: 240/1/5

then up
game 14: 230/3/1
game 15: 350/4

then back down:
game 16: 250/1

even go back to 2015, which considered his breakout year:
his first 9 games: 10 TDs, 7 INTs
his last 7 games: 24 TDs, 1 INT

that stretch was the best of his career but he still started out poorly.

First and foremost I said top 15, not 15th best.

Secondly:

Brady
Brees
Rodgers
Rothelisberger
Cousins
Ryan
Rivers
Stafford
Carr
Luck
Manning
Flacco
Palmer

Any of these guys can be argued as better, and at least half of them definitely are. And you can go check the stats over the last 5 years instead of just looking at a name and saying nope.

Then there are guys like Newton (whose accuracy is much worse but is the best rushing QB) and Winston (who is progressing faster than Wilson did) that can be put in the conversation.

Wilson has averaged 3,639 yards and only around 25 tds per year. Those are NOT top 10 QB stats.

Yeah his accuracy is much better, but he is definitely just as inconsistent. It's crazy how one week he looks all pro and the next like he should be benched.

Wow bone... first you said "I'd give him maybe top 15".

quote:

You are the one that needs to check stats. Really, what a horrible list.
quote:

Who won 2015 NFL OPOY and doesn't make your top 15 when Cousins is #5???????? Wtf dude.
quote:

Wilson has averaged under 4,000 yards and only around 25 tds per year.
Drew Brees had a 80-53 TD-INT in his first 5 years. And never hit 3600 yards in a season, let alone average.

They weren't in order. I was just listing QBs. Also Cam, like Wilson, is vastly overrated.

First and foremost there is what a 10 or 11 year gap between their rookie years? And they rules have changed greatly to favor the receivers/passing game.

How about comparing him to other top QBs who came in since 2010 or so.

And you are nuts if you think he will suddenly start putting up Brees' numbers (which you didn't say but your logic is leading that way).

Your list, sorted by career passer rating

1. Aaron Rodgers 104.1
2. Russell Wilson 99.6
3.Tom Brady
4. Drew Brees
5. Phillip Rivers
6. Big Ben
7. Cousins
8. Matt Ryan
9. Carson Palmer
10. Carr
11. Luck
12. Stafford
13. Newton 86.1

Good thing passer rating is heavily skewed by ints.

Career passer ratings

I mean Romo is 4th ALL TIME in passer rating, while Marino is 26th. That should tell you how flawed of a stat it is.

Dalton, Schaub, and Kapernick must all be better than Marino too, right?

That's about the only thing (and his scrambling ability) he is very good at is not turning the ball over. But he also doesn't get a ton of tds, leading to his team kicking fgs quite often. Good thing they have the top scoring defense like the last four years to bail his arse out.

just judging off this quote i actually dont think you know anything about how it is computed, tbh.

quote:

But he also doesn't get a ton of tds,

he's only been top 10 for 3 of the 5 years as a starter, despite never being higher than 15th in the league in pass attempts

Dude has had shite WR's by elite offensive standards too. He's done a ton with very little

Marino was a career 59% passer

Romo was a 65% passer

You're talking different eras. Not INTS.

Kurt Warner has a higher INT% than Marino but was a much more accurate passer. You'll find him 10th on the list.

Wilson's game is extremely efficient. That is why he is high.

There's a reason I didn't list Cam with the others.

As a passer Wilson is hands down better, but as a runner Newton is better (though Wilson is no slouch).

I'd definitely put him over Newton, but I can see people trying to make a case for Cam.

Honestly I think Cam is now the worst QB in the division (given Winston stays on path), but being the worst in the best QB division in football ain't that bad. I'd say every QB in our division is easily in the top half of the league.

How can that be when your Top 15 only included Brees and Matt Ryan?

I think Wilson is significantly better than average. Wilson has also had pretty poor and cheaply crafted offensive lines the past few years

Not as a passing QB. Wilson during his early years had the ability to roll out, move the pocket and then take off for those 4-5 yards which picked up first downs or turned a 2nd and 10 to a 3rd and 4.

This action also causes the linebackers and DBs to read the motion and come up on the ball.

Wilson is 28 years old. Same age as Cousins and Cam. Only one year older than Luck (27) and Carr (26).

Carr is flavor now, same place Luck was 2 years ago.

That wasn't my top 15. It was a list of QBs that are or can easily be argued are better than Wilson. It was 13 players.

Then I mention both Cam and Winston after that (adding Wilson that makes 16 QBs I mentioned).

Again that's if Winston keeps progressing and doesn't take a step back. It also would be if Newton has a bounce back year because last year he was maybe borderline top 20. Iirc it was his worst statical year overall.

Russell Wilson is a top 10 QB in the league and in no way should be compared to a Cam Newton. His IQ alone is much higher than anything Cam Newton has in that jug head of his. He had a down year last season with injuries involved and all, but that shite happens in a very physical league like that. But my description of him would be a very smart QB that can pass the ball really well when on his game, but he is a much different type of passer than a Drew Brees. Brees is a very good passer of course that uses every receiver out there from TE to RB to WR, and when he has a weapon like a Jimmy Graham he will go to constantly no matter how tight the coverage is. Wilson does not use a TE like that, he is a streak passer like a streak shooter in basketball that prefers to go down field using a (WR)Baldwin a lot, and then mixing it up with designed runs or scrambles. He will go to his (TE)Graham, but mostly when that play is called to do so. But he is just a really smart QB that will use his head to beat you, if it's not blowing you out early than he's keeping Seattle in the game to try and steal it at the end.
