re: Johnny manziel....Should we??? - tigerterrace
I think he could make the 53 as the 3rd QB. This could be an easy choice for the Saints. 1) Saints get to look at him. 2) Cheap cost--potential Value 3) gets to learn from Payton and Brees 4) No pressure to be the Starter. Drawback 1) potential distraction which means instant cut 2) li...

re: Saints odds on winning a future Super Bowl have evaporated - tigerterrace
They still are going by video evidence that 99% of us can see on the TV with a replay. I understand that the refs make mistakes in real time as the game moves fast. But within a minute a guy upstairs can see what really happened, but for some reason the NFL felt like they needed the referee to...

Just thinking--If you are the Saints - tigerterrace
Then you want all these pro-days to go good for several of these players. With the Saints picking at #11 each player that pushes themselves higher like a Fornette, Howard or Trubisky leaves more choices on the board for the Saints with a lot of choices. ...

re: Saints re-sign Sterling Moore - tigerterrace
They can treat Hightower the same way that they did last year. No guarantees and bring him it to get some reps. Cut him before Week One and then a resign. ...

re: Saints re-sign Sterling Moore - tigerterrace
I love the sign I like him and Webb. I think you cannot have enough decent or good corners as injuries happen. I could see. 1) Butler or 1st round pick 2) Breaux 3) Williams 4) Moore 5) Webb 6) ?...

re: Did a little recon on the Brandin Cooks/ MT13 situation - tigerterrace
I don't give a "F". Cooks on 26 of the 32 teams in this league is a Number 2 receiver. On the other 6 including the Saints he is a 1.5 receiver. He isn't the main guy that you rotate and game plan for. Brees, Brady, Rodgers, Ryan, Rivers and Stafford find a way to get the ball into player's ...

re: Satellite back/TE? - tigerterrace
Everyone loves offensive numbers, but our offense has been pretty consistant. I think what you really mean to say is that the Saints were good when we had a defense that wasn't in the bottom 3rd. With our offense--we do not have to have a Top 10 defense to win. If we can put a defense on the ...

re: FA cornerbacks - tigerterrace
I understand both sides of the argument and in a way you could say that you could be buying a pick. You could have Butler at a cost of probably 11-12 million a year or Claiborne and the #32 pick for around 7 million a year. So the question will always be is Butler worth 4 million and a 1st r...

re: Top 8ish Defenders are off the board. What then? - tigerterrace
I seriously am trying to trade down and I really do not care about value that much. You have to look at the board and see who is there, but I would drop from #11-15 or 16 for maybe an extra 3rd this year or next. You have to think ahead next year 2 #3 picks might get you back in the 2nd round....

re: Cadet staying with Saints - tigerterrace
This has to be a contract in Name only with very little guaranteed. You don't get paid real money unless you are on the 53 man roster for Week One. I see him as a guy primed to get cut barring injury and then a hopeful resign if something occurs. I still like Cadet more than Murphy, so I ha...

Finally having some money in FA sets up team - tigerterrace
There really isn't a secret to how the Patriots do it. Sign good free agents to fill holes and garner picks to add players that might pan out in the future. They are not drafting for need. So the Saints signing a guard and potential getting Butler could allow the Saints to take a player in th...

Eddie is a smart player and a good one. I think he is worth a mid 4th, but we will not pick until Round 5 so he will probably be gone. ...
