You don't know that.

they've watched him practice and develop for a year now, IF That's their plan and I say IF... it's their plan because they are comfortable with his development already
Yep, and they've watched Charles Brown practice and develop, and he sure the hell wasn't the answer at LT.

Who the hell was BDLP 2nd year in his career? A nobody, that's who.
And he's still a nobody after 6 seasons, but I'd rather spend the extra money to re-sign him (which he shouldn't command a hefty contract) than go into the season with Lelito as our starter.

YOu can't go out and spend 4 million on kicker
I never suggested signing a kicker for $4 mil per year.

draft a center with 2nd or 3rd round picks. Those picks are too damn valuable at other positions needing replenishing.
Center is a top 3 need at worst, IMO, after CB and maybe WR. I don't see why spending a 2nd or 3rd on one would be an issue. True there are other positions that need replenishing, but Center is one of our biggest needs. Getting one that can come in and start right away would be a great use of a 2nd/3rd round pick. 'd rather get the 2nd/3rd best Center in the draft in the 2nd or 3rd round, than get the 9th best CB, LB, S, WR or any other position (Johnny Patrick, Martez Wilson.)If we go into the season with Lelito as the starter, we're in trouble.

$2-3mil avg on a 5yr deal for a kicker. Get the position locked down! The thought of another Carney-Cundiff-Mare-Melhaff merry go round scares the hell out of me.
a #58 draft pick contract will be less than $4mil total for 4 yrs. That's pretty damn cheap for a likely upgrade with upside that you can have penciled in while Grubbs & Evans do their $20mil+ years. Ideally, this guy could then slide over to guard when Grubbs or Evans become expendable too.

I am on the Kenny Britt wagon.
Maclin & Sanders are nice players, but Im not sure they are what we need. If we think Stills is going to take the next step, he is a similar player to both of them. I guess one of them could come into play if Lance Moore is released, but even then, Stills can get a lot of those reps in the slot.
Britt is a big (6'3" 220), can run (4.47) and get deep (15 YPC career). He is what we are missing on the outside. I think he is also motivated from what he has said lately. He'll likely come rather cheap considering his production and his injury concern. Would be a great risk reward type signing.
signing him would allow Stills to work more in the slot as well.

nice angle on Britt IF he passes the head case test. He might have to be on the market a while to accept his current value it sounds like...
rotoworld- Impending free agent Kenny Britt doesn't believe he got a "fair shake" in Tennessee this season.
A healthy scratch three of Tennessee's final four games, Britt was one of the worst players in the NFL this season, but pointed out that "other receivers dropped balls." He thinks there was a "double standard." He'll learn about someone else's standards next season, as Britt will not be back with the Titans. Britt has already gone on the record as believing that he'll be a No. 1 receiver in 2014. Mon, Dec 30, 2013 02:31:00 PM

I wouldn't mind Britt, guy is a baller when he can keep himself straight.

Payton likes to take chances sometimes, but I think Britt would be a player they would stay away from. For sure.

pass on britt... dude hasn't matured yet and he's still doing more talking than walking. we don't need him in our locker room or influencing any of our young guys.

He's produced when he has played

Past 3 years are nowhere NEAR impressive enough for me or Payton to bring his attitude and committment to the game of football into our locker room. When the guy had 45 catches a year ago, that was 90 targets. Just nothing overly impressive about him now. When a free agent with supposedly this mouch talent is that cheap... there's a big reason why. I don't see that type of signing from this organization. I just don't think Britt has turned the corner in his maturity yet given his comments still last year. Hardly owned up on anything he's done.

He's had shitty QB play & battled injuries. We shall see. It's not like we're going to be able to be too picky. He's perfect for what we need

On April 12, 2011 Britt was arrested in New Jersey on three counts (including a felony) following an alleged car chase with police. The charges were later reduced.[8] On June 7, Britt pled guilty to careless driving and was fined.[9] On June 8, 2012, Britt was arrested in Hoboken, NJ, charged with resisting arrest.[10] On January 13, 2013, Britt's close personal friend was involved in a stabbing, and reportedly drove him to the Jersey City Medical Center. When police attempted to ask Britt about the incident, he was allegedly not willing to cooperate. The incident marks the ninth time Britt was involved with police since he joined the NFL.[11]

Talib has had several conduct related issues since his NFL career started. At the NFL rookie symposium in July 2008, Talib was involved in a fistfight with fellow Buccaneers rookie Cory Boyd.[12] On August 20, 2009, Talib allegedly battered a taxi driver,[13] and he was arrested by Florida Highway Patrol and booked into the Pinellas County jail, charged with resisting arrest without violence and simple battery.[14] In March 2011, police in Garland, Texas issued a felony warrant for Talib for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after accusing him of firing a gun at his sister's boyfriend.[15] He was later released on $25,000 bond. Talib was indicted on the charge in May 2011.[16] On June 18, 2012, the charges were dropped due to insufficient evidence and character concerns with the accuser.[17]
fair enough to point out. But, Talib is a stud. I think has matured and proven maturity now, comes from a saints like organization and has excelled.

I say Corey Graham from Baltimore. Another FA cb from the AFC North= another physical corner. They guy would be phenomenal lining opposite Lewis.
