Seahawks one with their top three receivers being 5'10" or less and got back with small receivers this year.

Size along does nothing. Yeah if we can get a guy like Cooper than go for it but there are ZERO Dez Bryant types at the end of the first.

So Colston, toon, Coleman, jones, Watson, hill are certainly big bodies. Not sure what makes them capable... Maybe if you combine all of their traits you would have a playable, big WR

Or you could Prioritize a big WR early in the draft who can do it all, check that need off the list, and get a small, quick guy late. One is harder to find than the other

Lockett
Tre mcbride
Jamison crowder
Etc

All will be had from the 2nd rd on

WR needs to be addressed regardless. We need to come out with 2 anyway imo

Brees' top pass catchers for the past decade have been Colston and Graham. One is gone and one is on his last legs.

They were also our 2 most talented receivers by a long shot

Brees managed to throw for 5,000 yards in 2008 with Moore and Devery as his 2 leading receivers. I'm not saying that I am against a big body receiver, but it isn't a necessity.

Quicker, faster receivers also allow us to get rid of the ball quicker and should help in the PA game

Josh Hill at 6'5 can help fill the redzone role

Still have Colston, adds Spiller, and Hill has pretty good potential. Not sure who you're wanting us to take that would be better than what we have outside of the top 3.

Their small Recievers got completely wiped out in the Super Bowl. The only success passing they had most of the game was a practice squad kid that's only ability was that he was freakishly taller than the corner he was going against

Believe me, I've seen the whole "every WR on the roster is a short guy" offense at it's finest and it is painful to watch at times, especially in the redzone

I'm hoping that one of Jaelen Strong, Phillip Dorsett, Nelson Agholor, or Devin Smith fall to 44. I'd take any of them. I guess you can throw DGB & Perriman in this group as well. There's a decent dropoff after these guys.

Gonna Bama it up here, but if OJ Howard starts playing like he's tough then I'd love to grab him near the end of the 1st next year to be a WR/TE hybrid. But if I'm looking at this year's draft, maybe try and get Funchess if he's there in the 2nd or 3rd.

I like those guys. A complete WR would compliment them nicely

You just said size itself means nothing.. Which pretty much sums up the big WRs on our roster you listed

Of course Julio jones, Dez types don't grow on trees. But you could lock up a Parker who is over 6', has a huge wing span, can run, jump, run routes, has great hands etc. we have no one like that currently on our roster. You could throw Nelson algohor in there at 31, even though he has been a riser on draft boards.

Well we aren't saying that every WR should be short. We'll have Colston, Hill, and then possibly Toon, Coleman, and maybe a rookie

I think that another fast receiver would compliment them well

That's the thing. There really aren't any good options for big WR's in this years draft. I like the potential of a few guys in the 4th round and later. The most NFL ready guys this year seem to be smaller WR's...unless you spend pick 13 on White or Parker. DGB is a big question mark and I'm not high on Funchess. Those are the only 4 big WR's(when I say big, I mean 6'3" and taller) in the top 3 rounds this year.

Seems like that article just points out the importance of the slot receiver in a ball control passing offense.

I would rather Strong or DBG but I would certainly be happy with a dorsett or even Devin Smith.

All things equal you want the taller/bigger guy. Im sure we could get away with Dorsett but it would make more sense to target a bigger guy. There are a good bit of options in the draft for that type of WR.

Beckham-Green has that potential. Remember Bryant slipped until pick 24.

perriman if he drops

chris conley/jalen strong have that potential

a lot of people like Funchess/Sammie Coates

i think speed is more of the point rather than size.

5'9" is a far cry from 6'.

Both Cooks and Dorsett are 5'9"

Didn't the Pats win the super bowl with 2 5'-11" starting WRs last year? Colston can be as good as Lefell.

Brandon Lafell is 6'2" 215

Gronk is 6'6"

With Brees diminished arm strength, you can take advantage of his ridiculous accuracy and anticipation by using small quick receivers with break away speed. With short and intermediate timing routes, those guys can get free with a quick cut and are always a threat to break a long one once they have the ball.

The continued focus on reducing contact with receivers only helps them also.
