Quick offense. No kill to the next play.
You can't hear anyway.
Call the play, hurry up.
To further his point, let the wr on the outside have two routes period. Hand signal for whichever.
Either way, you can't switch personnel and try to 'kill' the play.
Run the hurry up IMO

what I didn't like was that we switched personnel up SO damn much.
We already can't communicate properly, switching it up makes it so damn hard on the olineman. They're your focal part in this, they need to know the pass protection scheme to keep brees upright and able to make plays.

quote:Yeah that game was a shitshow in every way. Couldn't pass, run, pass protect, stop the run, stop the pass. We looked like a deer in the headlights. I think we would be better prepared if we play again for sure but that was really discouraging. Pumped about tonights win though.

Exactly his point.
I would think a hurry up offense would be the best way to deal with that team in their place.

This is what an at-the-time depleted patriots offense ran against us. It killed us at the beginning of the game, they got away from it, then it came back as a two minute offense and they won the game. Best way to beat a superior team/defense.

The one positive from getting blasted is the Saints will learn from it. They won't lose by 27 if there's a next time.

Yeah I think we try to go tempo. Wear them out and it takes fans out of it. They'll still be loud but tougher to build up noise while offense in huddle.

Cited Payton and Brees as arrogant in their refusal to adjust v Seattle.

agreed that best thing about that game is that if we have to play in Seattle for the NFC Championship (if Seattle wins their playoff game) We will make adjustments for the noise.
I think the Saints under estimated the noise in Seattle

A large tub of Vaseline would also be helpful next time as well.

Bingo. Here is what I said in another thread before the Seattle game.
quote:
So long as we end up with a top 2 seed I think that regardless of the outcome we come out of this game in a really good position for a possible NFCCG rematch.
Even if we lose and end up as the 2 seed and have to go there in late January, we were just there 7 weeks ago. Having the experience of playing them already at their place, in cold weather, and in a playoff game atmospere is invaluable.
To be honest I don't see them beating us in the Dome and I also don't see us loosing to them twice so either way I like our chances come January.
For that reason I think that collectively the Panther games are of far greater importance. If we lose the division and fall to the 5th seed we will go into the playoffs in a death spiral with no momentum and a burning question of "what the hell happened
Would it have been better had we won the game? Absolutely. Can they beat us again at their place in the NFCCG. Yes they can. However, we will not make the same mistakes and we won't lose by 27 again.
I said it before and I'll say it again. Even though we lost, we gained a lot by having to play up there. I still like our chances in a rematch if we get to that point.

score more points....that will quiet them down.

That was pretty glaring the whole time. Our intricate offense rotating three or four new players on can be great, but getting all that signage and verbiage in while trying to do that will be impossible if we have to go there again. I have a feeling we see a revamped way of doing things because that's not gonna work. When we did finally go the hurry up late in the game, we were actually moving the ball pretty well. It just didn't matter by then and didn't have anything to show for it because we kept giving it up on 4th downs.
Trying to force this I formation running game is what killed us. Get in the pistol and spread them bitches out.

The Saints whole offense is built on personnell groupings. Every play multiple players are coming in and out. You'll see large shifts in players from play to play in each series.
I think that is part of our problem on the road.
We need to pick a player grouping and just go with it. Run multiple sets, formations, etc out of the same player grouping.
Tempo tempo tempo.

Different game without the early pix 6. We played catch up from there on out. When you're playing catch up half the play book goes out the window. Plus I have never seen a secondary in any game get that many pass breakups. Timing/luck play a lot into that.
We win the next one no matter where we play

Everybody forgot that Seattle had two weeks to prepare for that saints beatdown.

I liked what the Saints were doing against Carolina formation wise, there were a lot of TE motions either to the other side of the line or split out wide.
The Saints have many players that can stay on the field in a variety of formations, definitely is no need to switch out so much in a hostile environment.
