He's alright. It wasn't who I wanted because there was so much depth on the interior Dline. But if we did go interior Dline, I'm glad we went with him instead of our other options

Meh, safe pick at a really deep position. Safe pick.

Which is fine at 12 overall. This team isn't in position to take risks

Why? Tunsil is overrated, a headache and redundant seeing as the Saints have a stud LT and a RT they just picked last year around the same spot.

Not all Tackles can just shift into Guard, so you are wasting a pick for redundancy which is what people said last year.

Michael Oher was supposedly an amazing stud out of Ole Miss too, and has been a bust compared to hype in the league.

I was hoping we'd trade down and still be able to get him. I think he's a safe pick who will absolutely improve our interior d-line presence. Championships are won and lost on the offensive and defensive lines.

True. I just prefer to roll the dice and take a DT in the 2ND.

Honestly thought they would go BPA and grab Tunsil. However, safe pick with Rankins. Whoever posted that pic on Tunsil's account is a moron on top of the other mess he's dealing with. Guy was a surefire number one pick until the rams trade

Yeah it's a deep DT class.

But Rankins and Buckner were the top 2 interior DL and there's a pretty big gap between the rest. They are on their own level. Not much separate L's DTs #3 to like #12. They are all bunched together.

Joe Johnson clone, minus banging Roaf's wife. That works for me.

I like the pick. I wanted two starters from this draft that start day one and I think we got one in Rankins. Now hoping Lawson, Jack, Spence, Robinson, Reed or Butler are there in Rd. 2

I think he's going to have a really good career, but I agree with the rest of your post. A lot of people are treating the OT to OG transition like C to OG. It's not that simple. Peat was shite as a guard but solid as an OT this past season. Guards and tackles typically have pretty different body types. Guards also typically have more varied blocking responsibilities that can take time to adjust to.

I love the pick and the Aaron Dinald comparison I think I just had a brain dart when Tunsil was there.
