Now that Nicks has been paid, maybe he will become lazy.... while playing for a division rival.

The Bucs are f*cking idiotic to throw all that money towards a lineman. This long term is actually a very good thing for the Saints they significantly overpaid him and are now getting closer to the Salary cap. Why not just sign 3 other linemen instead of one guys who might go down during the season? Crazy amount of money.

Did you say all that when the Saints made Evans the highest paid guard in the league?

Happy trails with our division rival I suppose.

At least it's not Atlanta.

Maybe can help identify tendencies in the defense and such, but there was something I read once that stated since Fujita helped the Browns rock our world a couple of years ago, Payton and crew have devices ways of preventing that from happening again.

Newsflash: Freeman has a .600 winning percentage against the Saints.

Well that's not true. He's 3-3 against the Saints (split both games all three years).

Here are his stats in those 6 games:

134-211 for 1455 yards. 7 TDs, 5 INTs. Record: 3-3.

Not great numbers, but it should be noted that in his first two games against us (his rookie season), his TD-INT was 1-5. In the last 4 games it is 6-0.

He's definitely not great, but he is getting better and always seems to play us well. And Nicks will only make him better.

Meh. Atlanta seems poised to not do ANYTHING in free agency. They seemed destined for another mediocre season with a terrible D. No pass rush, and secondary that gets smoked.

Welcome to mediocre Atlanta...
So f'ing tired of it. The fanbase will revolt, I'm already beginning to.

That would make me happy, but in reality it's usually not the teams that make big splashes in FA that go deep into the playoffs.

He went backwards big time last year. He needs a Guard like Nicks if he wants to improve. It was a good sign by them.

I just mean how people used to always leave the Saints and then go to the Falcons (Hebert, Anderson, Ironhead - kinda, etc.).

We need to hurry up and tag Nicks before he can sign that contract.

Nicks is a great player, no doubt.

But he's a fricking Guard. One of the most easily replaceable positions. When players can't play Tackle or Center they get moved to Guard.

Grubbs is almost as good as Nicks and might be a better run blocker (not anywhere near as good in Pass), and if he's got Jhari on other side, we are completely fine.

True, but not against the Saints. That's what I was saying.

Exactly. This will only make him better. I won't sit here and tell you that Freeman is a great QB, but he's serviceable at worst, and really good at best (2010).

The real reason that he signed with Tampa?

The Mons Venus.

Stupid money, but since the Bucs pretty much had to spend it, they could afford a dumb contract.

If we sign Grubbs I think we come out on top here.

Joe Horn did it, too.
