I figured. It really sucks to lose a guy like that. And he is a great example of what a smart player can do for us.

They need a guy who has the ball in his hand a lot that is smart and if that same guy was a great team defender because of his IQ, that would be icing on the cake.

I know a feisty Spaniard that fits that description.

I definitely would be down for that. 3pt shooting would still be a serious issue.

Yeah, but did you know Rubio was elite from 16-22 last year?

Not good; elite

Plus he is a good cutter. More ways to stretch a D than just running from behind the line

I feel like I was called crazy the other day for even thinking the idea of going to get Rubio with our 1st this summer was asinine.

Now it's a great idea.

Yes.

My point remains, in order for the spacing to work, we'll need to improve drastically from 3.

You can space with midrange but it's a statistically inefficient way to do roster construction, especially with 2 bigs.

I'm not saying we need to be the Rockets. But we need to get better there.

I think the spacing part of more 3pt shots is overblown...it's the return on investment on the scoreboard that makes threes better than twos in a vacuum. I think any consistent jump shooting will help space in at least close to the same way

in any event they need to shoot better from all over the court, and specifically make open shots

I am an unabashed Rubio fan and have wanted him on the Pels for a while. I think he fits really well with AD and Cousins despite the 3 pt%.

We shot 35% from the perimeter. Rockets shot 35.7%. Statistically we were nearly as effective as the Rockets, they just attempted 40 a game whereas we shot 26.

I don't think Davis or cousins has ever played with a great ballhandler
I know Davis hasn't

Rubio would be interesting to see

I agree and I don't think it would take much to get Rubio. They supposedly are linked to signing d rose as a free agent they seem to be done with Rubio as there pg.

not all about 3pt%.

there are benefits to having Anderson/Gordon spotting up that aren't there with Hill/Cunningham

Even if Rubio is cheap, unless we're operating under the cap to absorb him, you'll have to send more than 2nds. They don't want our garbage contracts clogging their cap. It'd probably cost Moore and filler.

I agree my dream scenario would be let holiday walk stretch Asik get between 16 to 18 million in cap space sign jj reddick then trade Moore Ajinca and two seconds for Rubio. Then maybe sign Omeri Casspi or someone like that for the bi annual and still have the 2018 first in dells back pocket

it seems like it would be the last time for a while they could clear some serious cap space
I'm not really all that high on Moore either though I think hes got value
You would think the wolves would ask for the first though

I don't think they will get a first for him since teams know they are ready to move on from him.
