It means something.

That doesn't mean anything in the playoffs.
If regular season means nothing in the playoffs, then why not let all teams play in the playoffs?
I would agree if it were one or two games, but 3+ games begins to say something. We've won both home games and lost @ Memphis. They would most likely win the series, but it's not going to be a sweep or anything.

We'd wreck their shite in the playoffs.
Now, on the other hand, I want absolutely no part of Golden State or Dallas.

GS is the only team in the West that would push our shite in. Anyone else, we make it a series.

Rockets beat the Blazers 3-1 in the regular season last year. Lost in 6 in the playoffs.
Rockets beat the Spurs 4-0 last year. Do you think they would have beaten them in the playoffs?
Playoffs are different because of adjustmens, match-ups, and game planning.
In the regular season, there are injuries, back-to-backs, an unmotivated team on some nights, etc.
In the playoffs, the players are motivated and giving 100%. Everybody is prepared. Any gimmicks that can win you a game will be nullified in a 7 game series.

This Pelicans squad has never been to the playoffs, and this is their first season where they have won more games than they've lost.
If you think they would "wreck their shite" in the playoffs, you are delusional.

No one is more battle tested than the Spurs.
Do the Spurs win the title every year?

The '10-'11 Memphis team that swept the SAS had 1 guy from the '05-'06 Memphis team (the last team that went to the playoffs).
The only guy: Shane Battier
The '10-11 New Orleans team has one guy that is on the '14-'15 roster.
The only guy: Quincy Pondexter
Coincidence they play the same position for a vet leader?
I think not.

The Pelicans are one of the younger teams in the league and have not even been to the playoffs much less been "battle tested" from many playoff games.

4 years ago, out in the first round to the very same Memphis team we're discussing who, at that point, had missed the playoffs 4 consecutive seasons.
Last year Portland took out your Rockets, Wash knocked out the Bulls.
"Built for the playoffs" is a load of shite. Speaking of stuff that doesn't matter... That's something talking heads say to fill air time. Nothing to do with basketball.

There are exceptions to every rule. There have only been 5 eight seeds upset the one seed in the history of the NBA. Memphis was one of them. That was an anomaly.
Portland beat the Rockets last year, but those were two teams with identical records, and Portland had home court. The Rockets had very little playoff experience of their own.

Houston's two best players had plenty of playoff experience.

The confusion is understandable, the Rockets lost home court almost immediately
