Well the good thing is the Pels hold the tie breaker against the Thunder.

Thunder are going to win ~85% of their games the rest of the way.

I really think that we have a better shot at passing the Spurs.

Throw in the Clippers and Mavs they are within 1/2 game of the Spurs so we just need one of the three to fall apart

Use your noodle! They've won 5 in a row and are 5.5 games up and you think they're just gonna fall off of a cliff and play below .500 ball from now til season's end????

That sounded impossible when I read it, but I didn't realize Spurs had won 5 straight.

So yeah, we're fricked. We're just not good enough to keep up with OKC at this point, and Dallas (struggling now) is too far ahead.

Stay reasonably healthy, add a solid MLE SF, and we're in next season.

It's the Spurs, they aren't gonna fold up at the end of the season and lose a bunch of games that really matter.

Why? The Pelicans basicaly just need out do the Thunder by one game. I don't see why they would be any more likely than the Pelicans to finish the season strong.

I did, just didn't get my noodle in before you posted. Hadn't checked their record super recently. A week ago we were only ~4 games back of SA and they were struggling a bit.

I don't think that we're good enough to do that. Again, I think that OKC wins ~80% of their remaining games. We're a playoff caliber team, and we'd be fighting for the 5 seed in the East, but I don't think that it's going to happen this year outside of a Westbrook injury or someone besides AD blowing up over the next month.

The Pelicans should absolutely win the next five games. Monty really needs to come through. He should be coaching for his job right now.

Moral victories is all you've got, my man. I hope you can still enjoy the playoffs even though your Pels will have punked a few of the bitch arse teams that are playing for a title when it really matters.

Depends, they aren't better than HOU right now but they're still better than 85% of the league. No chance they miss the playoffs, in fact I'll say they move up from 7th. Bookmark it.

The Pels are absolutely good enough to do that as the thing holding them back is dropping stupid games to inferior teams. Definitely if their depth increases with getting guys back from injuries.

well, they're technically in 6th place right now, so you aren't going out on a limb there
