I think you're right for basketball reasons, but I just think for psychological reasons minimal success with Cousins > minimal to even moderate success with random eastern european kid.

right. but you still have KP's rights in your back pocket.

you would think that the knicks would insist that noah be attached to any porzingis trade

so would you do KP + noah for cousins & a 1st?

thats tough. Noah looks done and he's got a lot of money left to go.

if i could attach Ajinca to Cousins + 1st to get total salary roughly even, probably.

but the on court questions about Davis/KP are legit. they aren't running point big man with those two. i don't see much High/Low game with them. they would need to be back to spread PnR with an excellent distributor/creator. and i don't know if that maxes out each player on offense the way Davis + Cousins in a Denver type offense might

the defense is likely a hell of a lot better though.

Marc Stein? @ESPNSteinLine

The Celtics remain in trade pursuit of Kristaps Porzingis, league sources say, trying to assemble a package to meet the Knicks' demands.

How in the hell could not assemble a package? Ainge needs to come off of some of the picks and turn them into impact players.

I'm guessing they don't want to give up #3 or next year's Brooklyn pick and they're hoping they can sucker some team with a top 10 pick to trade for a combination of Smart/Crowder/Bradley.

Supposedly Ainge offered a player, #3 and another lottery pick they think they can acquire. I am guessing maybe Phil is pushing for future picks too. We will see. I think Ainge wins out on this.

No way I would trade Brown. Phil backed himself into a corner with confirming the rumors. I'd give up Crowder, a first, and maybe one pick in 2019, take it or leave it. The celtics could easily be better off just keeping the picks.

Is Crowder or Bradley alone enough to get 7? Both seems like too much though. Bradley/Crowder for 7/Rubio then Rubio for Moore?

Something like Crowder + 2018 BOS + 2019 LAC may be enough. So could end up something like Brown/Smart + 3 + 7 + 2019 MEM for Porzingis.

Disagree. Rubio's best skills are passing and setting up teammates and you diminish it in Chris Finch's offense and make him someone that plays off the ball, cutting, and spotting up.

Why would we give up the better player and a first?

I think Crowder for the 7 is probably fair, due to his low salary and 3 years remaining on his deal.

Also the latest ESPN updates on what is going on in New York make me think anything can happen with this situation.

"Celtics offer number 3 pick, a potential additional lottery pick and one player for KP."

"Phil Jackson dozed off during prospect workout with Knicks."

What is going on with Phil?

is it though? 21yr old, 7'3, great fundamentals. Those aren't easy to find.

So the Knicks want 2 first rounders, Crowder, and Brown for Porzingis?

So you're telling me NYK would trade their best PF for 3 SF's (Josh Jackson/Tatum being the best players at #3) while they already have Melo? Not to mention that package is WAY to high for Porzingis. Even the Phoenix proposal is absurd.

Knicks gonna Knick I guess

How so? Don't they have something like 7 or 8 1st rounders over the next 3 drafts? I cannot see them using all on unproven talent. I would use a couple with a player to get Porzingis.
