yeah 2006 was a pretty shitty draft.
the problem is 2012's draft was pretty good, and we wasted it on Austin Rivers. Outside of Rivers and Kendall Marshall, anyone else would have been better in the top 20.

I forgot which draft it was, but Paul George was taken the pick before us and Gordon Hayward was the pick before that, and i remember thinking during the draft i would love to get either of them. Instead, we traded the pick we had, Cole Aldrich, for two later 1st round picks that turned into Brackins and QPon.

That was actually a well executed draft. Bower cleaned up his mess a bit on the way out. He not only turned 1 pick into 2 picks, but he dumped MoPete's salary. Demps then only had Posey to dump, and he immediately turned Brackins into Jason Smith and eventually turned QPon into Vasquez. Cole Aldrich, or more likely Patrick Patterson, vs. dump MoPete and get Smith and Vasquez. What more would you expect? An outgoing GM is not going to trade a future pick to move up 1 or 2 spots and take George or Hayward?

The way Bower left is the way I want Demps to leave, clean up the messes and give us a clean slate to work with for next year.

Too bad Demps is going to run us to death for another 2 years, I have this strong feeling Demps won't get canned in the offseason

What really hurts is that our 2nd round pick (which we traded for the rights to Marcus Thornton) was used to take Jae Crowder, one spot above Draymond Green and 5 spots above Kris Middleton.

I remember last year getting a survey from the team. It had a bunch of questions about how pleased I was with the Pelicans with respect to management, coaching, players, etc. At that point I had a strong feeling Monty would be gone.

I keep hoping that I will receive another one this season.

That's great that they did all of that after the fact, but i'd like to actually draft someone that pans out to be good. Apart from AD and CP3, David West is the only draft pick we've had in the last 12 years that turned out to be a difference maker, and he was our first pick as an organization. We've had 5 chances in the 10-15 range of picks and all 5 turned out to be guys that can't play in the league.

Look at this neato trend.
guys picked a pick or two before our 1st round pick:
10 Rivers - 9 Drummond
11 Aldrich - 10 George and 9 Heyward
21 Collison - 19 Jeff Teague
27 Arthur - 26 George Hill, 25 Batum, 24 Ibaka, 23 Koufas, 22 Courtney Lee, 21 Ryno. That draft had a ton of good guys, then our pick came and the draft went to shite after that.
13 Julian Wright - 12 Thaddeus Young
12 Hilton - 11 Reddick
15 Simmons - 14 Brewer and 13 Sefalosha

We needed to lose a few more games.

Maybe instead of getting a point guard (which we have) let's try to get a SF that can actually play both ends

Also no more trading draft picks...please, it looks embarrassing for demps it's basically him saying he can't evaluate talant. I'll never understand why we didn't pick Cj McCollum the year we had the 6th pick

I see the Grizz want to move Jeff Green & Courtney Lee....wonder if we make it work in a three-team trade to move Evans & Gordon and get one of those two and Teague?
