I was a Rockets fan due to the majority of my family living there and the proximity. When the Hornets came to NOLA I instantly liked them as much as the Rockets. I now talk shite to my family who are all Rockets fans and have grown to dislike them.

I would pull for LSU players because I grew up around LSU basketball. Other than that, I was just a basketball fan.

I am huge fan of basketball period, and my favorite team is the Spurs. Before I moved to NOLA I would watch Hornets game and I even made it to a couple. After I moved to NOLA I had the chance at season tickets and jumped on it. Sometimes its a conflict of interest but I just look at it like I have two favorite teams.

I was a general fan of basketball but I can't forge an allegiance to some bitch arse Texas team so I was just a fan of players until the Hawnets showed up.

This is exactly my story. I was a huge Rockets fan during the Olajuwan era. When the Hornets moved to NOLA I slowly adopted them but pulled equally for the Rockets. As time passed and all the players I cared about from the Rockets retired or moved on, and I just flat-out always disliked Steve Francis, I drifted away and really fell in love with the Hornets. Now I still like when the Rockets do well but they're a clear second team for me.

I was a Pacer fan... really a huge Reggie Miller fan. He basically retired the same time the team came to NOLA.

You gotta root for the home team.

I was a NBA fan growing up with no particular ties to any team. Jumped on board when they moved here.

I was a Shaq fan when he entered the league. Grand mama ( Larry Johnson) was my second favorite player behind Shaq. My family and I moved to Charlotte in 1996 and I became a huge Hornets fan. We move back to BR in 1999 and the Hornets followed me soon after.

IMO, regardless of where you live(d), if you grew up during the late 80s and early 90s, you have to at least like the NBA a little bit. No other professional organization during that time period was more appealing to kids than the NBA. If you weren't a fan of the NBA then, you didn't become a sports fan until later in your life.

I grew up as a Lakers fan through the Magic era... continued on through Shaq and Kobe (much more casually)...

Although, I was generally excited in 1994 when we thought for a short time the Timberwolves were moving here...

By the time we got the Hornets I was kinda done watching the NBA, but when I moved here during the CP3 era and caught some games live... I began to be more of a fan. I still wouldnt call myself a die hard, but did buy the 12 game Friday night package thos year...

I don't know how any of you were able to be fans of the Hornets when they first moved, including myself.
They were fun the first year, then you realized the team was full of a bunch of greedy dickbags that constantly sat out of games b/c of "injuries" or played in the games and gave piss poor effort b/c they were unhappy being in N.O.
Outside of P.J. Brown, frick the rest of those dipshits. The players were such a eyesore that you didn't even recognize how shitty the coach, owner and front office was.

Once CP3 got here, and after they came back from OKC, it was pretty easy to root for them if you were from around here and liked basketball.

Was a huge Clippers fan during the days of Maggette, Darius Miles, Quintin Richardson, Olowokandi, and Elton Brand, forgive my tastes, I was 10 and didn't know what good basketball was at the time. There was an ESPN show following them and fell in love with their story as all-time losers, with the horrible owner. Didn't like the Hornets, when they first arrived. I hated Baron Davis! After the mass exodus, it was really Dan Dickau and Lee Nailon, that made me a Hornets fan. More recently, my association to the Clippers has waned, they got a little bit of talent and then turned into douchebags.
