Didn't say he was.

I've heard a few stories of AD being a really cool guy. One of my friends in high school was (maybe still is) really good friends with Ryno and would sometimes see AD and thought he was a really nice guy.

Know someone who lives on same street as AD and I've heard nothing but awesome things about him. He stops when coming home if he sees neighborhood kids playing ball and plays a little with them, has been signing a ton of NBA2k16 games, rides his "hoverboard" around, and actively participates in Halloween in his neighborhood dressed up.

I've never hung with him personally, but have hung with his parents and they are some pretty chill people and very grounded.

I watched him sit and take pictures with whoever wanted one at Gleason gras

If these dudes obliged every photo and autograph request they would have no life. Gotta say no sometimes

I used to work at Academy over on Vets and he came in a little over a year ago with his sister and some friends looking for paintball stuff. Davis was actually really polite and chill, but his sister was a raging bitch telling us "No pictures" and to talk to her instead. Which was just idk because none of us had phones out or were asking for anything aside from if he needed help. Basically making it like he's a trademark or something as opposed to a person it felt like.

Kinda cool story..

If you go to the Pels game you know they have those children that line up in front of the players during the national anthem.

Last night it looked like one of the kids was terrified and was almost on the verge of tears so he was leaving the court before the anthem started. AD kinda waived him over. The kid ran over to him and held his hand during the national anthem.

I really don't care for threads like this. One person has a bad experience and it gets publicized and all of a sudden AD is a jerk. People have bad days, people are shy, people are uncomfortable in certain situations. It doesn't matter how much money they make or how famous they are, they react the same way we do in certain situations. If I had a bad day at work I don't want to be talked to, same with AD. If AD is out with his family and wants to be with his family, then so be it. Would it have been nice if he stopped to take a picture or sign something, yes; but its his life.

At halftime a young kid walked up to him with a pen and paper, Davis never even looked at him and the guy with him barely looked up from his phone and shoo-ed him away...

Common practice from the unibrow to fans in the team's home state?

AD is good people. That punk kid was probably just trying to make a buck on ebay.

You edited your title.

Someone in AD's crew told the kid to scram or you specifically heard AD tell the kid to "scram"? He used that word to a polite kid?

I think this thread should be whacked.

ETA: His boy shooed him away. Whack this damn thread.

I never said he was a jerk. I asked if this was common for him.

No I didn't. I edited the post to clarify that it was at halftime.

He motioned for the kid to leave.

Kentucky was getting bitch slapped at the PMAC, what the hell was he suppose to do? I would have been pissed off like a mother as well. Probably would have kicked that kid in his nuts.

That and he was spending time with his Dad. Usually when he's with him or his Mom he doesn't sign as much.

He was always approachable at UK. Him and MKG were usually the guys that stayed forever after games signing for fans. The first time I saw him was before he played for UK (he was enrolled but the season hadn't started yet) and he was at the Yum Center for a UK alumni game. He signed autographs for the people standing in Will Call whose seats got moved at the last minute.

AD is not the most approachable player. At a season ticket holder event his first year (at which the players were supposed to be mingling with the fans), my son went up to him to ask if he could take a picture with him and he walked away and ignored him.

had a similar experience when we took 3 little girls (6-8yrs old) to meet the players. He didn't even give a glance in their direction.
