If it's any telling from last year's shows in BR, RRB and REK won't have any trouble pulling a few hundred to their shows.
With the smaller/lesser known bands I would say that you're probably right about no more than 50. I saw Wade Bowen at the Texas Club a few months ago and I'd say 50 was pushing it for attendance, and that's counting the 10-20 Livingston parish regulars who showed up but had no idea who the guy was.
Sad situation because I know that deters more groups from swinging into SE LA on tour.

I was there. Pretty shitty turnout. RRB draws pretty big now because they had a few songs on the radio and CMT, so they'll pull a few. REK always has a decent draw.
Its just sad seeing talented groups like Reckless Kelly, Jason Boland, and Kevin Fowler playing for 30 people.

You would think that with all the undergrads at LSU from Texas, they would pull a few more people.

It is usally about 40 LSU Texans, and 10 or 20 others. They need a radio station around here to play their music.
Anybody know how to start a radio station?

This makes me sad :( Wade has one of the best voices out there, in my opinion.
Extremely underrated.

Agreed on Bowen. His version of Lynnville Train is unbelievable.
Saw him at the Varsity and he puts on great show. Very underrated in my opinion.

There's an even better Americana station out of New Braunfels but we can't get it in Austin. Sad panda. I'm hoping it will expand one of these days.

I mention this song in threads whenever someone starts talking about best cover songs.
The REK tribute album this song is from is outstanding. A ton of great acoustic covers of REK songs from some of the top Texas Country singers, like Chris Knight, Reckless Kelly, Roger Creagor, Morrow, Cody Canada, etc. RRB also does a great cover of "I'll Be Here For You" on it.
I highly recommend the entire album. It's called "Undone: A Tribute To Robert Earl Keen"
Edit: From that same album:
Chris Knight - Undone (Acoustic cover)

Thanks. Just Dl'd the app. The first song I hear on this station is from Lucinda Williams - I like it already!

Yeah they do, but Kvet also throws in their share of Nashville pop too. Especially in the afternoons! I usually listen to KVET every morning until 10AM (the 90s country hour at 9am is awesome). Then I'll put it back on after 7PM when The Roadhouse series starts.

No doubt a great album. Have it and listen to it frequently.
REK coming back to BR soon. Can't wait, been too long since I have seen his show.

Wade was good at the Texas club, although the opening band was horrible. 484 South I think it was. Let's start a group here!,, whos in?

Randy actually canceled a show once so he could go golfing with George Strait.
