I Just Can't Take It Anymore
Not sure if there was ever a "proper" recording of this... but I love this tune

Jagger's singing on it strikes me as relentlessly pompous and ill-conceived.
Product of their place in time.

Gram is an idol. It's a tough call but I think Hickory Wind might be my favorite Gram tune. Ryan Adams and Gillian Welch have done some fanTASTic covers of Gram tunes. Ryan's cover of "A Song for You" for the ROTGA compilation is one of his career high points, in my opinion.
Gram- Hickory Wind and Sing Me Back Home
He was no fricking Radiohead, though, that's for sure. :roll eyes:
One more edit. Just for Kicks: Ryan Adams: A Song for You cover.

The Coal Porters
The Coal Porters are led by Sid Griffin, formerly of the great cowpunk band The Long Ryders. The Porters began as a cowpunk/alt.country act but now, with Sid based in the UK, are mostly a bluegrass band. He's quite articulate and is often interviewed by the BBC on musical matters -- he appears in the recent Gene Clark documentary.

If you're ever in Tampa, this is a funky little place dedicated to Gram Parsons: Gram's Inn.

Very possibly.

Great thread with some great links. Got into Gram about the same time I picked up the guitar, so I ended up gravitating to the songs that I found easiest to play -- Blue Eyes and A Song for You were two of my favorites. Continental Drifters did a great cover of the latter.
