re: Opinions on Tipitinas
Posted by LJBurton on 4/9/24 at 12:00 pm
I spent many a night at Tip's back in the day. Leaving out the countless great local acts, the top of mind standouts are:
The Smithereens
The Church
Cracker
Wilco
Son Volt
Scruffy the Cat

He should have removed her from the case for making a mockery of his court....
Do you think the judge just jumps over the bench and arrests them himself, like Judge Dredd?
No, but it would have been nice if he had the balls to care of the problem directly, instead of teeing it up for someone else to do....

Novel = B/S
It's obvious what's going on here. Can we stop pretending this is some legitimate legal proceeding?...
re: 'True Detective’ Renewed for Season 5
Posted by LJBurton on 2/22/24 at 2:25 pm
Everything looked good about Season 4 until I started actually watching it. Then it quickly unraveled. Strong cast, great setting, a great director on board. But, the writing was just terrible. By the end, I wanted the 6 hours back that I had just wasted.
At the risk of making way too much out of...
re: Question about Succession
Posted by LJBurton on 2/19/24 at 4:15 pm
I think all of them, save Connor, at times show at least some measure of competency, and I think in the right situation, Ken, Shiv or Roman could all prove to be a worthy successor. But, these are all irreparably damaged people.
Buckle up. You are in for one hell of a ride.

There’s nothing smart about her. She is where she is because of her race, her gender and her politics. Not her brain. ...

It must suck to be this miserable.
We just won two and a row and have everything still to play for. We have a realistic path to a home playoff game or a wildcard spot.
Can we just enjoy the win and hope for another this Thursday? Or, would you p...

I've seen several documentaries by forensic scientists that did not start w/ a conclusion. The simple fact of the matter is that there is no credible evidence that JFK was shot by more than one person. I've seen numerous snipers duplicate the three shots on a similar moving target with no p...
I was being sarcastic. This incident has been done to death. Forensic experts have proven that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone shooter. Every single conspiracy theory has been logically explained. The movie JFK was almost pure fiction.
Trump is morbidly obese
and nobody notices or cares that Jerry Nadler is unable to keep from sh!tting himself....

re: Guidry Golf and Sport reviews?

I have been working with JP for about 10 months and am very happy with the results. I feel much better, have way fewer physical issues when I play, and as a result can play much more often than I used to. As an added bonus, although not my main objective, I have added about 5 mph of club head speed....

I agree about Nelson. He's probably the most intriguing candidate on that list, for me. Unfortunately, he has no chance of winning.

In my group (handicaps range from +4 to 12), we generally try to play it down within reason. Our bunkers are garbage, so we usually allow for rake and replace, but this is always stipulated ahead of the round.
I personally struggle with the concept of hitting it in the middle of the fairway and ...
