311 - Chad Sexton
Texas In July - Adam Gray
DMB - Carter Beauford <--- Not underrated, but bad arse

Who earns your nomination?

He's great but I don't think he's underrated. He's almost always in a best drummer discussion.

I'll say Topper Headon from The Clash and Larry Mullen Jr from U2.

Hard to call Carter under rated. He was in the top 15 on Rolling stones top 100 drummers of all time. Dude is a beast though.

I saw Helmet on their last tour and their current drummer is really good too. He's young and still has some room for improvement, but he was able to really drive the rhythm which is critical for Helmet's style.

Not the flashiest and most talked about, but I'd have to say Mick Fleetwood. Great drummer, but never got the attention he deserved because of being in the same time period as John Bonham and Neil Peart.

Levon Helm didn't make the stones top 100 list, and that's a damn shame

I'll also add Danny Carey from Tool. Not just a great drummer, but a great percussionist in general

It'd actually be an insult to call him underrated, but Josh Freese is easily the most talented drummer of the last 25 years.. so pick any of the 80 bands he's played for, that's my answer lolz

Not really a band with an underrated drummer (he's worked with so many bands/artists), but I find Matt Chamberlain to be severely underrated.

Fiona Apple - Fast As You Can

Fiona Apple - Limp

Fiona Apple is a fantastic musician in her own right, but I always end up focusing the drums and grooving my arse off when I listen to When the Pawn. Dude just plays with a swing that gets into you.
